Yep, and then the "fast" modems came out, 56K shit...man, atleast half an hour per music file - I mean 6kb/sec was fast and u usually needed to have an ISDN 128k line to get 6kb/sec

Just make sure there are no hidden caps. I know many people with the same type of connection in europe, and australia, and most ISP's put a 10GB transfer cap on the line. So in reality all that speed is turned worthless by the cap.

Actually it's cheaper. My 4mb line cost £50 a month and my 10mb line is £35. No cap to answer Mcharts question.

Thats what I'm getting from a news group give or take a few k. Generally though it's over 900k a sec and it hardly goes lower than that from the Giganews server.

damn thats fast got a 2.3mb line and can get speeds of up to 250kb/s on it but usually about 150-200 mb

Not at all. There's a BIG difference from waiting 1 hour and 3 hours than there is of waiting 15mins or 1 hour. I only d/l when i'm asleep and at college which is usually 12 hours of every day. I never d/l that much but its there and wont effect me at all The only thing i'd like is a faster upload speed but ya cant have everything. Also..... like Ollax said he's gettin 100mb, you boastin about 10mb is hardly worthwhile when a lot of users here also exceed it |
