One other interesting thing: unlike so many games of its ilk, Watch Dogs does a commendable job making the killing of random civilians arrestingly uncomfortable. There's something nauseating about seeing someone's name and personal information before you shoot them in the face.

This is true.. when I targeted someone who had been 'abused as a child' it felt a little odd that I didn't want to shoot them or steal their money anymore

Also... when I saw an ice cream truck driver whose favourite online search term was 'kids' I had no problem killing him

maybe he just genuinely loves kids and even helped fund an orphanage, what have you done Crying or Very sad

From high to low: MSAA, SMAA, FXAA.

SMAA and FXAA are similar in performance, but SMAA looks much better.

TXAA I don't include in that list, as it's MSAA + FXAA and whether that looks better is highly subjective. I hate all things FXAA, so naturally I don't like TXAA either Smile

For my 2p worth (UK remember Laughing), hacking was never designed as a 'minigame' - and I'm actually glad about that - ok it would have been nice to have actual terminal hacking somewhere, but remember this is an action game, not a Linux simulator, so it wasn't going to happen.

I look at hacking as a way of achieving an objective, like stopping someone in a car running or suchlike - Sure at the end of the day it is just a gimmick, it just makes a change from shooting people.

Yeah... no.

Tried all solutions ingame and TXAA looks best by far. Unless you like jaggies cutting your eyes out.

Either TXAA or downsampling, but gl running this @ 4k.

Again, does anybody know how one could force triple buffering? Since the game is 64 bit D3DOverrider doesn't work. The ingame vsync is just double buffered and locks the game to 30 FPS if you can't maintain a steady 60 FPS which I imagine I'm not the only one.

Set "vsync 1" in game. That worked fine for me.

Wow, performance is terrible. Even on low settings I'm getting maximum 25FPS. Guess I'll wait a couple of days to try the steam version which is hopefully a bit more optimized. Sad

I think day 1 patch + drivers from both sides up-to-date will be your best bet.

Few more pics,

Looks really good at night/sunset/sunrise/weather. I'll admit its not that great during daytime, but nowhere near "LOL this looks terrible" etc some people like to exaggerate.

These have TXAA 4x on (seems to work now, guess it was bugged last time i loaded the game up)

These are the first (and only) good looking WD screenies I saw so far.
I guess there is an issue with full day lighting ?

I want this game to be good so badly, just to be able to say a big FUCK YOU at Rockstar and that they can keep their GTA V and put it in their asses.
Laughing

yeah judging from the screens it really looks like daylight lightning is bugged/missing something cause those shots looks very diffrent, daylight looks flat and bland, almost like there no point lightning

look at the screen evilmonkey posted, look slike theres no shadows on the houses :O

Same here, I saw too many jaggies using MSAAx4, and I couldnt use MSAAx8 cause gpu usage goes from 20% to 90% all the time, so it´s basically unplayable. TXAAx4 looks good and runs better. Still runs like shit overall, hope patches come out on day one.

Well in reply to myself, disabling dolby 5.1 in sound settings in windows (using optical / realtek) and using 2ch instead at least allows you to hear sound in game.

At 1600p, around 40-45 with hbao+ high, ultra settings only have hbao+ low. Usage on cpu and gpu is still low, im sure it will work better with parches.

Not here Sabin, same issue as him, 1 fps under 60 and it caps to 30 with vsync 1 Sad

Make up your mind. First you say VS1 "let it go 60 at times and VS2 locked it to 30" - now you're saying the opposite. Regardless, VS1 for ME made it so that it could drop below 60 without capping down the next steps.

vsync1 caps it to 60 (and with let it go 60 at times i mean it stays 30 here but when 60 is possible it goes to 60, should had said it properly -.-')..
