Played the tutorial yesterday and I like it so far. Compared to Tropico 4 it has some pro's and con's but I would absolutely argue that the pro's outweigh the con's. The voice acting is what mostly bothers me though, although it's not that bad compared to several other titles.
PC: Yes. Console: No.

out of curiosity, anyone get the DLC island going? I have tried the various releases, and have not unlocked the DLC, even with adding lines in codex's... What happened to me? lol

I like how the islands actually keep your buildings with new missions (at least in the beginning).

Ok i somehow managed to get the last mission working so i've finished the campaign.
I like it but i still think its not very deep. The problem is that once you get going the challenge kinda disappears (similar with previous versions). The campaign also doesn't make any use of the modern era, once you reach modern apartments and the fancy hotel you've completed the mission and you move on.
The game also still has issues with teamsters and construction. I had an abundance of both but sometimes a building just wasn't getting built and resources weren't being delivered to places for no goddamn reason. Then there's the docks, i really don't understand why they didn't make them so they share resources between them. As it is now i had a dock full of goods (150k worth) and 3 others with 10k each. I also fail the so the usefulness of buying stuff via trade... Unless you're playing sandbox for a long time and want every single industry possible and you've ran out of mines there's no point to it.
Then there's housing. I built like 30 residences of different types, put a metro and car park next to it, used the morgage edict and more than 100 people still lived in fucking shacks.
I dunno, its like 3&4 for me. I really enjoy it when i start playing but after a while i'm just going through the motions to get to the end. I think some more complexity would do it good...

Yep, the multiple docks system is stupid. I haven't tried this yet, but I don't see why it wouldn't work - Build your extra docks, then just lock all workers out so they're empty. You should still get the ship bonus, and all resources should be delivered to the original dock that has a full staff of workers.
I can never be free, because the shackles I wear can't be touched or be seen.
