TXAA has always looked crap to people with eyes. All the AA implementations in this are weak though IMO.

TXAA is so far overhyped, all scenes are blurred. This is why games still offer MSAA.

SMAA is the best technical improvement it's just that most games have a bad implementation of it. SweetFX with SMAA is unfortunately superior to 99% of game implementations.

I dont mind slightly blurry picture if that way will be removed all the jaggies. TXAA does its job perfectly compared to MSAA, FXAA and other methods. High MSAA values also does that, but performance hit is few times worst.

Very cold. Are you assuming that only driving games set in big cities are "open world"?

Can't figure out this ctOS tower Laughing

 Spoiler:

There's no lift, that door isn't anything more than scenery, nothing to climb on, I've circled the building 90000 times and couldn't find any way to get up there. Laughing

It's the last tower I need to hack.

I use Temporal SMAA and i think it does a better job than every other AA modes. Very performence lite too. It's the only AA that seem to help with fences , leaves ,distant power lines etc without blurring the shit out of the image. FXAA doesn't do anything for those

Tried all the AA's.

Temporal still gouging my eyes out when there's fences / railings / wooden piles etc.

With TXAA there are no more jaggies, period. At the cost of a bit of image sharpness (people like to exaggerate all the time), you get no more jaggies.

MSAA also doesn't affect stuff like grass/trees etc (as in you know, alpha textures think it was? Since the grass isn't a model).

Downsampling is obviously the best, but the power to run this DS'd is just.. yeah not gonna happen.

I cannot comment on TXAA since i have a Radeon card and can't select it but while Temporal SMAA is not perfect , it helps quite a bit with the flickering effect you get on leaves , fences etc when moving. FXAA doesn't do that and MSAA 2x is not doing a better job at that (specifically , it does better in other areas) while being more taxing on the system. MSAA 4x and over i don't even consider running since there is too much blur and it's a performence killer. Regular SMAA is OK but doesn't do as good of a job on moving objects as temporal.

Performence - IQ ratio wise it's the best of the bunch for me but of course it may not the same for everyone

I just beat that too. It wasn't fun at all. I suppose it makes sense story-wise, but my god it was annoying. Good thing the checkpoints are really forgiving here.

It would be enjoyable if the cops weren't so ridiculous, the shooting mechanics less clunky, and you could actually aim at the helicopter to disable it with your phone.

Half the time I can't even see the actual helicopter, because the damn camera won't move past a certain point.

Indeed, I was able to glitch(?) the camera to let me look straight up to do it when I'm against certain walls. But its clunky and unreliable. Driving fast seems to be the best way to do it.

That one mission near the end was just as annoying with that heli.

This mission is just horrible, I can't believe this shit.

I can't even do what I need to do, because everytime I evade the cops, two seconds later those fucking circles pop up again and MOAR cops show up.

They seriously thought this would be fun?

I tested it out for 40 mins when there was a release and I actually thought it was rather boring. Don't feel connected to the characters, think they are kind of full of themselves and douchy.

Ah well, will play when I receive my key and hope it gets better, after all 40 mins isn't that much. Pretty much did the 'tutorial mission' and then went for some freestyling around town.

Doesn't run too bad and graphics are fine so that's a relief. Smile
