ah good. might get it from a cd key store.

Btw on my 770 (since its using only one of my 2) it runs smooth as butter all maxed.

I also like to know what "obvious streaming" means. I didn't see anything , that made that "look obvious".

Anyway, gonna replay it again next week or so on hardest and trying to unlock everything.

So the game runs >60fps in 1080p @ Ultra on my 780M except Screen Space Reflections set to None (Ultra=Medium by default, but it's not 60fps constant...).

What exactly is Screen Space Reflections ? Is the difference that big in this game ? I couldn't seem to notice it but I didn't make screenshots to compare in real life.

Also I forced FXAA, no problem but is there a better AA with less vaseline that takes as much as FXAA on Nvidia that i can force in the panel or that's all ?

Thanks.

Some tracks have a rammstein feel to it, quite agressive which is good of course.

It's just minor (ugly) reflections, you can keep it off Razz

As for AA, JB has posted some useful stuff in the previous pages if you're interested: http://www.nfohump.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=2481113&highlight=#2481113
You need to create that cfg file and execute it from the console, otherwise tweaks like AA don't get recognized. (goddammit idDerp )

No, but really, unless you hate first-person shooters, this game has a lot of charm and soul. It's flawed yes, there's some derpiness that managed to infitrate the system, but did not take over it.

That's about my best effort to describe it right now Very Happy

Unless you have a bandwidth cap, you should definitely give it a try. Assuming you like first person shooters in general.

If you buy the game retail you'll lighten the download to 10gb which is way better then 40gb.

And I never will, don't need anyone to convince me to try it, I don't want to try it. Seen, read and heard enough of it to know it's a waste of time (and space... what the fuck even?!) for me. If I want a shooter I can play Hard Reset or Shadow Warrior, which I still haven't finished. Unlike so many here apparently, I have plenty of games to play.

Well, not here apparently Laughing

I was like you, among the minority of haters of the game here, and after the lazy start and 5 chapters later, I understand now why so many people here like it.

And yeah, I have a shitload of games to play, and I will play them all Wink

Its not the 40Gb download, its the 40GB on my SSD Laughing
And the fact that it's still idcrap5 so I'll likely experience the same issues and poor performance as I did with RAGE.

So no

Isn't that a issue with forced triple buffering on Nvidia hardware?

Triple buffering is set to off on both inspector and nvidia control panel, but it still happens.

I thought i should record it so that you can see exactly what i mean, but the strangest thing is when i started recording with fraps and the fps plummeted to around 30 +/- the purple flickering disappeared completely, and as soon as i stopped recording it and the fps got back up it returned.

You should be able to force anything via NVCP, or use r_multisamples (MSAA) in the console/config file. You'll probably get the best results on your GPU without losing FPS by using r_multisamples "2" + FXAA on low-medium. 2xMSAA costs a couple of FPS, add another for the quick pass of FXAA for temporal AA. Or just set it to 2xTXAA in NVCP, which is almost the exact same thing (TXAA uses FXAA on high though, so it blurs substantially more than you setting FXAA to low yourself).

I'm gonna wait for a patch, are they even aware of the bad performance?

Dunno why you're hating so much on it but I feel like I should chip in and try and convince that it is indeed worth a playthrough. But alas, to each his own. This is right up my alley since I enjoy alternate history so very much (The Man In The High Castle is one of my favorite books, and it's similar to this). It's better than Hard Reset OR Shadow Warrior, shooting feels much more solid and the story is beautifully done.

While I enjoyed both of them, this one was a lot better in my opinion.

I'm not that fond of the broad spectrum that is metal (I do enjoy music if its good regardless which genre), but the atmosphere of this game is killer. Partially to the well picked out soundtrack and setting the world has.

It is a shame you are unwilling to give it a chance, because I'm trying to convince everyone who gave up on SP shooters to give it a go. I was not disappointed, it's by no means an old school shooter like we remember, but it has enough to give that feeling and it didn't go totally 'derp' like most shooters in the past decade.

It has its flaws, but the total experience made more than up for it.
In the end it's still your decision to try or not, only reason I try to convince you is: because I think you'd enjoy it if you gave it a proper chance seeing you mentioned shadow warrior.

And something I wanted to say ever since the release of this game:

The whole 'OMG ITS 40gb's' is so tiresome. It's 2014, and yes there was no good reason to have it this big (if we take the engine out of the picture)... but we stopped using modems and have TB's in our pc. In worst cases it takes a few days to get it through, it runs in the background so I don't see the big problem other than patience.
