mmm seems songs of yuletide is inactive? looking into it... What number was that one, lol

– so here is the Paradox Yuletide Carol mp3 file to listen and download: (Right-click on the link to download)
http://d25yha10orzq01.cloudfront.net...f_Yuletide.mp3

The Paradox Yuletide Carol is also available as a free DLC on Steam for all owners of Crusader Kings II and Europa Universalis IV

Seems I answered my own question Smile

Anyone tried this yet? (latest expansion)

I was disappointed with the last mini-expansion, so I decided not to buy the latest one yet.

Does it bring any new 'game changing' features? And something which would be available/applied in the beginning already. I hate all stuff that only appears in 17th century or later. I rarely get that far (I usually get bored before).

From what i know it introduces some new things i.e. national focus (+1 to one of your monarch powers -1 to others), elective monarchy (for Poland and PLC only)
There are changes, like truce, now is based on war score - higher war score = longer truce (100% WS = 15 years, >50% = 5 years)

Some changes are probably included in patch 1.7.

Your insults will do nothing to blunt the agonies of your demise.

- Unique mechanic for Dutch Republics, balancing the Orangists vs the Statists.
- Merchant Republics can now place trading posts in each tradenode, to boost their tradepower.
- New Diplomatic Action against Elective Monarchies, to support Heirs of own dynasty in that realm, giving power, prestige & legitimacy bonus if they win.
- New action for Elective Monarchy to support their own noble for the throne.
- Lots of new events for Dutch Republics, Merchant Republic Factions, Elective Monarchies & Dictatorships.
- Dictatorships are now special cases in a Republic when tradition goes too low, and can then last the rest of that rulers life.
- National Focus: Change priority on power from 3 in each category to +5 in one, and -2 in the others.

In case you have nothing to do between wars with rather bland peacetime features - here's... Art of War DLC for you Smile

30 years War: Unique mechanics and events for the religious conflict that ravaged Europe.

Napoleonic Era: Fight for or against the revolution and create entirely new custom clientcountries on the map from your conquests.

Fighting with Armies: You can now sortie from sieges, transfer occupation to allies and give objectives to your subjects and allies.

Fighting with Ship: Entire Fleets can now be upgraded with one click, you can now mothball fleets to avoid paying maintainance, and your fleets can be set to automatically transport armies.

Marches: Turn your vassals into bulwarks against your enemies, getting less tax but strengthening their defences.

Improved Diplomacy: Sell Surplus Ships, Fight for your subjects CB, Declare War in Support of Rebelfactions in other countries and new peace options like give up claims and pay monthly war reparations.

Gameplay Enhancements: Build entire armies in one click, abandon cores that you no longer wish to fight for, and abandon entire ideagroups that are no longer useful to your nation.

Free Features for the accompanying patch includes: Completely new rebel mechanic, local autonomy on province level, new cardinalsystem for Catholics, new reformation mechanics and a huge map improvement, making the rest of the world as detailed as Europe is. Lots of interface, ai and gameplay enhancements.

Also, some screens (of minor importance) in here - http://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum/showthread.php?795532-Eu4-Art-of-War-Announcement-Information&p=17882061&viewfull=1#post17882061

Yeah just grabbed it, I have the original but I think they are being damn greedy charging well over the top for all these DLC/expansions.

I got this and Crusader kings II in a sale but I still have not played either. But fully intend to

I think Paradox did a good job with expanding the game. Especially Crusader Kings 2 which is almost unrecognizable compared to the vanilla game. As for the dlcs - there are often sales and you can get them quite cheap.

One has to wonder if there will ever be a 'gold' edition or, (as I suspect) they will just go on and on releasing DLC's. Don't get me wrong the game is fantastic, but there is a limit.

Oh they generally do have the gold editions, for the content DLC. I don't think they put fluff dlcs into those editions though.

Hmm I bought EUIV for a tenner a while back its a fine game, but the new expansion prices are way too high for me. I will wait for a while until it is on sale.

Watch this guys tutorial series

Watching his Crusader kings 2 one atm its really good, although Crusader kings 2 seems even more complex then EU4 Smile I found EU4 quite easy to get into.
