Do I backtrack in this game, or am I supposed to get to what I see when I see it. It seems I am moving forward all the time, letting the things I can't get to (later with abilities?) behind me. Like the wolf at the very first beginning for example, I couldn't jump on the ledge. Should I head back?

Finally completed the game (after I lost my saves.. twice), it was a very pleasant experience.
I started with the normal difficulty but after some familiarizing with the characters/abilities I decided to continue playing on hard, and never looked back (albeit some bosses tried to make me regret my decision ). Also had to grind a bit, since it was for a right cause. It never got boring, though, as both the length and variety felt appropriate - gameplay limitations aside.
The visuals&music combo was highly charming and suggestive, the story/dialogues on the other hand could have been less clichè-ish, but still, it's another 'little' gem that deserves to be played, imo.

This is supposed to look pretty good in stereoscopic 3D. Haven't tried it yet. You'll need tridef: http://www.tridef.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=4623
Nice game. Hints of Okami in there, Odin Sphere as well. Yes it has silly riddling but at least there is no voice acting!

http://www.vg247.com/2014/11/20/child-of-light-made-plenty-of-money/
Quote: | Speaking to GamesIndustry, Plourde said the project more than made back Ubisoft’s investment in it.
“It’s not as profitable as Assassin’s Creed is profitable, but it’s profitable enough that we would have been able to fund a sequel,” Plourde said.
“Or if it had been my company, I would be driving a Ferrari and doing donuts.”
That probably sounds like a lot of money, but for a company as big as Ubisoft it may be just a blip in the charts and not of much interest to investors. Still, the existence of Child of Light and similar endeavours, like Alex Hutchinson’s upcoming project, creates diversity in the publisher’s catalogue and is a good way to foster and reward talented development staff.
“The main reason why I got greenlit on the project was because I had carte blanche for making Far Cry 3,” Plourde said.
“I didn’t want to make Far Cry 3, but they said, ‘Pat, if you do that and help build that brand, we’re going to give you a free shot at the game you want.’”
Plourde said that the personal creative project was rewarding in a way big triple-A games had not been, as his playable poem touched players in different ways.
Child of Light cost Ubisoft a “couple of million”, mostly salaries for the 40 staff who worked on bringing it to multiple platforms at launch. |

I feel ya. I would love a sequel but anything else seems meh.

Haha indeed, add me as well to the list.
It all revolves around the definition of "cool". What's cool to those people usually isn't cool at all for us
Hopefully they'll have some common sense and will release something cool that isn't an embarrassment, including a proper sequel with even more variety combat-wise and other saucy improvements to an already great formula. #iwanttobelieve
