all the pvp servers are full with 50hour waiting ques
I just never understand how they can not have some idea of numbers for head start.
Unless they had an influx at last day or half day of many thousands of people buying the game it baffles me how server setups can be so lame. I guess it is blizzard though

Gnnh... at almost every loading screen I get stuck. I alt-f4 and restart the game, (no queue though if you do it fast enough) but takes several tries to get through the screen.

Yeah I am sure it will level out a little
In process of sorting out serious sam HD and TSE for my kid right now though.
Here are some things being looked into
Quote: | We are currently investigating and tracking the following issues.
Players are unable to view Realm List/Enter Realms
Players are seeing extremely long queue times
Players cannot speak/do not have permissions to use chat channels
Players are missing their entitlement items (Boom Boxes, Pre-Order bonuses etc)
Players cannot create characters/have less character slots than intended
Players unable to create characters due to no UI being loaded after entering a Realm.
Some users are seeing an Error 15 message preventing login.
POSSIBLE FIX: We recommend using a hard line into your Router (if possible) rather than a WiFi connection to see if this resolves the issue
A new EN-PvP Realm (Ravenous) has been opened to help alleviate traffic
Users are reporting their Reserved names are not available.
Some users are reporting they are being bounced between NA and EU, receiving a "No Valid Game Account" message.
Update: We're still investigating the issue with "No Valid Game Account".
We will try and update you with information as we receive it, but there are a lot of moving parts right now and we're trying to get everything up and running so please bare with us! We're working on these issues as fast as possible and are sincerely sorry if you're unable to get in and enjoy WildStar right now.
More info as we have it.
Thanks for your patience and understanding. |

one of the worst launches ever, heck lets ignore first 2 hours of " ddos" attack bullshit
then you have half people somehow on guest accounts which disables half of the chat channels, and lowers queue priority
they seem to fix it and 30 mins latter it goes back to screwed again , on and on
then there are huge queues
and zone phasing that doesnt work, you either end up in zone that have no players ( which might result in wildstar crashing ) or in zone where 20 people are waiting for a mob, seems proper phasing worked only for first 2 zones
impossible to claim preorder items as well, there are still issues left and right with ui addons, quest log that misplaces text or wont display quest on tracker randomly, then there are good old ui addon errors that still going strong, meh
but what pisses me off most, that everyone will claim how great launch was after couple days,
logged out of dinner, came back and found myself in 700+ queue, with red text saying "guest accounts have lower priority " seems i am back to guest account again.. zz

Smikis. : that's classic scenario for a new MMORPG game, give it a few days or one month and population will decrease alot.

i couldn't even get past the "tutorial" area, without it totally pissing me off (mainly the music ... wtf ?).
How is the actual game ? For example, how are the quests ? kill x / fetch x or more in the style or eso (which in my book has the best quests in any mmo ever) ?
And combat ? Obviously i haven't really experienced it, since i only played to level 3 or something. Again i'll use eso as an example (because it's different from other mmo's AND because it is the most recent AAA mmo). In eso, i really have to think. Fights are almost never "easy" (unless you fight 1 random trash mob). There is always a lot of resource management, positioning (dodging, blocking) etc. So, how does it fare in this one ?

Hey sin,
Unfortunately the tutorial area etc is lack luster, not because of looks or anything but they just went with the typical you know?
You will need to get past lvl 10 for things to pick up, mounts and housing is at 15, 10 gold for mount, pre order of course free rocket design house.
I was like you wtf! about the start area although done well it was generic and in your face if one has not used to playing brightly coloured mmo's for a while
I rolled Exile for headstart, have played dominion also and like both sides - possibly dominion slightly more but pretty even other wise. The music from the exile side you will either like it or not after a short spell of playing, can not remember the tutorial space ship music much but I know on the planet its all Firefly style and feel to it, which to some would be utterly awesome all rather western/sci fi etc.
The playstyle feels good in both pve and pvp thank god once you get into it. And learning to use the dodge and position yourself techniques to get off those telegraph skills becomes important. If you do say a group 2 man+ area boss they will surprise you with actually how much attention you must apply to kill it, unless of course you were to zerg it with many on those small boss ones. The big event area bosses are well pretty epic even the lowbie boss areas for such events will easily take you 15 mins to take down with people. Talking about 1.9 million hitpoints here on few I saw in beta and live.
If you can stick it out through the initial OMGAWD vomit colour and tutorial noob land feel you could possibly notice how good its going to be
They failed in my eyes at portraying it from the initial log in and go part.. They took the safe route they should of gone all out gritty and hardcore from the start. This is why many throw up the questions like I did and negative thoughts from the first few levels.
Anyhow if you have it which u do obviously then ride it for a while and watch some info online about it before making final judgement.
p.s Hazak server is a full fat stuffed server of all the I WIN NOW guilds if anyone can get on peak time will probably be shitty for a week or so maybe. They claim they can up the capacity on the fly but who knows.
For me if I had to say sum up a short about the game..As I dont normally do this anymore at my age with mmo's
went to bed at 5:30am

thanks for all the info.
And what about the quest ? Are they like "click ok ok ok" and "kill/fetch x" or actual some "mini stories" (again, like in eos) ?
Tho i guess i wait for some kinda trial offer or something, don't really wanna buy (yet) another mmo Still having tons of fun with eos hehe.

For the first 10 levels but intermingled with some much better paced questing yes its the norm questing. But you get puzzle quests of the sort and mini games later as you progress, there is lots of lore to read and they manage to keep crafting simplistic in nature but still its deep enough to be fun.
The crafting mini games are great

Well ok .. i'm gonna buy Wildstar, since i like how they handle fighting (like Guild Wars 2 or Tera) and also why it's not important to everyone, i love addons support.
I fucking hate in MMO games when i can't change UI in a way i like it.
What is also nice, that you can buy subscription for ingame gold, although i didn't checked how much you need, but it's definitely a plus to have it.
Regarding ESO ...
it needs another year before they fix all the bugs and make it enjoyable.
But since it's Bethesda, it's normal. They always had insane amount of bugs in every elder's scrolls game.

i've to say, i am really pleasantly surprised by ESO. First off, i took it really slow (i am 49 now). I only had like 1-2 SIDE quest which were bugged (and which were solvable after a server restart). Also the more you advance, to more you realize, just how tactical the combat is. It's not ability spamming like in most other mmo's (wow style mmo's), but really a challenge and intuitive. Also the quest and the over story in ESO is way WAY above any other mmo ever. EVER. It's also the first mmo, that i can play just for an hour or 2 and have fun and not waste entire days without having any sense of accomplishment. The skills (crafting, combat etc) are so unique and so much better than any other mmo, it's not even funny. Take for example crafting ; You can't level up by just spam crafting item x then y then z. No. You have to make a decision, to spend a) skill points into crafting (the same points you use for skills and passive bonuses etc) and then you have to level it, by gathering loot and "salvage" it. And then the items you can make, require again material you loot from your journeys etc etc.
Also the combat is so above and beyond any other mmo i've played (and i've played them all, since 15+ years). Your resources are VERY limited, so you can't just spam stuff (wow-like for example), but have to think about, what you do and also avoid/dodge/block actively etc etc.
ESO is a really a fucking GEM, once you get past the initial hiccups (which aren't there anymore anyways).
+ you can it for dirt cheap (20$ with 1 month included).

I enjoyed ESO, played it for 3 weeks before giving up primarily because my want to play disappeared. It didn't grab me like I thought it would, it was the same for FF!X, it just missed something that other MMO's had to keep me playing (primarily WOW/EVE online).
I didn't care about the bugs, I didn't even find any while playing. I didn't like the community, I couldn't find a guild, I had no desire to do dungeons (the single one I was dragged in to for a quest didn't look like a group dungeon and as such I spent an hour wiping on the first pack wondering what the fuck was going on.). I couldn't level in PVP, this just pisses me off in modern MMOs, there is no reason why this shouldn't be an option. Finally the healing mechanics frustrated me in PVP (and PVE, but not nearly as much).
All in all my desire to level to gain no additional content was 0. I *hope* wildstar has some of these issues fixed, having played the open beta I think it does, but we shall see, I may well buy it and be bored in another 3 weeks.
