Kiefer Sutherland is a busy man. The 24 star is so busy, in fact, that he accidentally revealed during an interview with IGN earlier this month that he was tapped to do voice acting in an upcoming Mortal Kombat game. Sutherland, who has spent over a year completing voice acting for Big Boss / Snake in Metal Gear Solid 5, said that "I did Mortal Kombat, and that's such a huge game, but it's so not like [MGS5]." He added that he wrapped up the Mortal Kombat gig "pretty quickly compared to [Metal Gear Solid]."
No new Mortal Kombat game has been announced since 2011's installment for the Xbox 360, PS3, PS Vita, and PC, and representatives for developer NetherRealm Studios didn't immediately respond to requests for comment. However, Lance Sloane, a producer on the live action web series Mortal Kombat Legacy, revealed in 2013 that discussions about a possible feature film were complicated because they were figuring out how to "sync up with the launch of the game that they're working on now."
In any case, Mortal Kombat isn't the biggest project on Sutherland's plate: 24 is coming back this summer in a "limited television event" called Live Another Day.
Well, it's not like it's a big surprise, latest installment was a huge success, a sequel was only a matter of time. Sutterland, though... Wonder who he played
TWIN PEAKS is "something of a miracle."
"...like nothing else on television."
"a phenomenon."
"A tangled tale of sex, violence, power, junk food..."
"Like Nothing On Earth"
ed boon is teasing it a lot on twitter latey , but he is master troll so we will see.
Wondering how will they deal with story mode. MK9 was pretty much reboot with story of MK1-3 and they hinted shinook from MK4 at the end. So tehy might just followe the story of MK4 or the might do MK5/6 aswell
Fueled by next-gen technology, Mortal Kombat X combines unparalleled, cinematic presentation with dynamic gameplay to create an unprecedented Kombat experience.
Update: Mortal Kombat X will be released on PS4, Xbox One, PS3, Xbox 360 and PC, according to Warner Bros.
Given the fact the game will be cross-generational, it seems likely that the below trailer isn't made from gameplay footage, but so far both WB and NetherRealm have remained mum on exactly what it shows off. The game will apparently be on show at E3 next week, so hopefully we'll be able to tell you more very soon.
The studio has also claimed that MKX "launches players into a persistent online contest where every fight matters in a global battle for supremacy. For the first time, Mortal Kombat X gives players the ability to choose from multiple variations of each character impacting both strategy and fighting style. Players step into an original story showcasing some of the game’s most prolific characters including Scorpion and Sub-Zero, while introducing new challengers that represent the forces of good and evil and tie the tale together."
