In a shock move, Konami officially gives the go ahead to a third party to do a full remake of the original 1987 Megal Gear, ready for release on Steam  Wow, that's certainly unexpected. Now how about MGS3 and 4, Konami?

Are you saying a 12 year old game for you is new? Also that "remake" was horrible.
I'm willing to bet if you do a poll the majority rather see mgs remade than mg.
MGS1, 3 were the best games. Because you actually had decent gameplay. The 4th one was more of an interactive cutscene. MG was not a bad game, but it was from the 8bit era.
If they use the same story from MG thats fine, but you can bet your ass Kojima will put cheese into it now.

Something seems to have happened. Their ModDB page deleted the news about Konami giving them the go ahead, and it now says it has ceased development.

I guess Konami didn't take too kindly to all the publicity? Or perhaps something about Steam? The one article says they're releasing on Steam but at the same time, also says that Konami gave their blessing as long as it was a non-profit/donation venture.
