The fact that the invader's vehicle is immune to the grenade launcher seems ridiculous as well.

This would explain one bullshit moment I thought I had... has this been confirmed?

My only confirmation would be that I shot 3 damn grenades consecutively from like 6 meters straight at the driver's door and the guy was like "zero fucks given" and just drove away from me Razz

And similar stuff has happened while being invaded on separate occasions. I thought I could set up a trap for a guy tailing me by taking a turn, stopping there and just waiting for him to pass and blow his car, but nope! But playing solo you don't even need to aim Laughing

Yeah, the grenade launcher definitely doesn't work as intended. Now I just grab an assault rifle and shoot them, since they go down way easier that way.

Yeah most of my kills when invaded are with my trusty AK. A couple of them while they were inside a car. Very Happy

Act 2 - "Role Model"

Man, if that's not a fucking poster child for how much bullshit developers talk about their games pre-release, I don't know what it is.

Apparently.. yes? It certainly looks better than any screens shown so far, even yours - which were great.

It's stereotypical but I kinda saw those scenes as the usual trashy drama about family, honor, virtue and all that, popular here in the west though.
(I'd say it gets worse but I guess it depends, main storyline wasn't too horrible or anything but Aiden's personal issues were poorly handled in my opinion though I'm not really expecting epic quality writing from it either so eh it works.)

Well i've browsed through that thread and i've only seen higher res reflections and stuff like that but nothing mind-bendingly awesome like Boris does with ENB.

O well, maybe i was expecting too much.

Unfortunately without modifying the actual code or having the source available then say reactivating the old lighting model is almost impossible, same goes for shader effects like re-enabling parallax occlusion mapping or changing reflections from cubemap (simple) to say screen-space (complex) modding might still be possible but I don't think we'll see any advanced engine changes.
(Unpacking the data is progressing with about 60% of the files known, model format is also being worked on and textures can be altered to .DDS for viewing and altering.)

ENB or a similar program for DX11 (Since Boris seems unwilling to invest the time needed to recreate the program for DX11.) to hook and then replace code would work but that's not easy from my limited experience about it.
(Hook into the process via the D3D API and then dynamically replace and change functions or even add new ones, he's really good to be able to do that.)

Oh, it's almost EXACTLY THE FUCKING SAME as the white phosphorus scene in Spec Ops, yet everybody wanks all over it, even though you could see the outcome from miles away. Whistle me elmo

Nope, that scene pissed me off too. The *power* of it was awesome, but the fact that it was scripted and you couldn't choose anything else (I tried... over and over) was epic bullshit.

Just tried it out of curiosity, Vanilla Ultra vs Modded:

I must say, the difference is quite minimal (considering how demanding the modded xml is). There are more consistent shadows and water has slightly more tessellation for example, but that's pretty much about it as far as I can see. Razz

Indeed, worst part is the guy is pretending like he changed the lighting and people are agreeing with him (first page anyway, couldnt ba reading further to see more stupid praise for nothing)

He took comparison shots with different daylight sun position in before/after and goes like "see guys, now the asphalt is shiny!!!"... new gfx unlocked! lol wut

Load of tripe sorry, i got no respect for posers and that's what he is.

Edit: o wait, more than lighting, hahahah

Quote:

Better Textures and mapping

Improved Reflections in the water and for the cars

Improved LOD and FOV
Better colors everywhere
Better Shadows
Better SSAO Quality
Improved Lighting for the entire game

Then you got the usual suspect : OMG LEWKS AMAZUNG .. o wait i'm just a derpyo it changes almost nothing but IT LEWKZ BATTER THEN E3 GUISE!!11

Oh god, if stupidity could hurt.

Enjoying the mostly "underground" music in the game. Not the best soundtrack ever by any measure, but really like many of the songs. Particularly the couple of songs by The Vindictives, an old punk rock (90's) band based in Chicago which I sincerely hadn't heard of before, especially "Alarm Clocks" really love that tune Very Happy

I thought the music is complete shit. Well compared to GTA V at least. I have never seen more boring set of tracks in the game.
