Coming to Sony's platforms for now, but later on other platforms (and I can 100% guarantee PC will be one of them) as well.

This really does come as no surprise to me, DoubleFine/Tim Schafer has long been a sellout that stopped caring about the PC platform and concentrated on consoles primarily.

... well, except when publishers stopped touching his games and he needed development funds. Comes slinking back to PC then, doesn't he? How's Broken Age working for everyone? Oh... wait, sorry.. it's not finished yet. Another charming Kickstarter success. That's okay though because he's back on Kickstarter now for yet another game. It's always awesome to start development on multiple new games when you haven't finished the last one.

Bah. I hate E3. It's always depressing bullshit "exclusive!" bullshit. Oh and yes, I'm well aware that I'm a huge hypocrite considering Costume Quest is one of my all time favourite games and that came out on console a year before PC Crying or Very sad

~edit~

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/doublefine/double-fines-massive-chalice/posts

Holy shit. What the fucking hell is wrong with Tim Schafer? Massive Chalice (Part 1 of whoknowshowmanywe'lltellyouwhenwerunoutofmoneyagain) is coming to XBONE as a console exclusive. So they announce Grim Fandango Remastered as Sony exclusive, then Massive Chalice as Microsoft exclusive.

What the hell is wrong with him!? Facepalm STOP BEING A CUNT AND JUST PUT YOUR GAMES OUT ON ALL PLATFORMS.

You had to use a '400 mhz' patch or something like that for the 'lift puzzle' Laughing because any comp faster than 400 mhz would not be able to solve it as the lift would fly by to fast.

It's allowed to hate the practice of exclusivity and still love the games Smile

PC gamers are the ONLY reason this game got popular, because you know, it never got release on consoles. Then we get shafted with NO PC YET?

Well, when a certain corporation offers you some money to make a game you wouldn't have the funds to do otherwise (or at least the funds to feel secure enough to go ahead) in exchange for some timed exclusivity, I can't really blame the developers/publishers for accepting the offer.

A business making money would make more releasing on more platforms, rather than locking to a single one via exclusivity bullshit. Can you or Snifty answer why Massive Chalice is console exclusive to Microsoft? Did MS pay for its development? No, Kickstarter funds did. Schafer just likes playing everyone off against each other. He's like Kotick or Pachter, just a massive industry troll. He should just put the games out on all platforms rather than jumping from bed to bed, he'd make more money and generate far more goodwill rather than this constant bullshit, and a game as PC-centric as Grim Fandango should be on PC as well or nothing at all. It would also be pretty good if he finished one game before starting on four more.. but hey... apparently it's a business.

Sure he'll piss off customers and some of them probably will pirate it rather than buy it, but from a business point of view a timed exclusive is perfect. You get money to make it exclusive, but you can release it anyway after that time, thus making even more money.

I fully agree though that making anything funded on KS exclusive to a platform other than PC is a very asshole move. KS should have something in its policy to make that impossible.

Oh it's coming to PC too, after his silly announcement at E3 about "now coming exclusively to XBONE!" he had to put out a hasty KS update clarifying that it's coming to PC *first* as planned, but that it's being ported *to* the XBONE and only the XBONE. That kind of stuff is just stupid. If he's using KS funds to port the game to other machines then it should be ALL and not just some shady exclusivity bullshit.

I just don't like paid exclusivity, I find it insulting and massively anti-competitive. I'm a "one for all" kind of person and seeing companies with neverendingly deep pockets like Microsoft just buying everything up, really riles me.

Disney owns the rights to Grim Fandango, if Sony wants to throw out the cash to get it done, that's fine by me, so long as we get it within a reasonable timeframe.

I still listen to the soundtrack from time to time. One of the best adventures ever to be made.

No PC rls? Mad Pricks!

"Enlightenment is man's emergence from his self-imposed nonage. Nonage is the inability to use one's own understanding without another's guidance. This nonage is self-imposed if its cause lies not in lack of understanding but in indecision and lack of courage to use one's own mind without another's guidance. Dare to know! (Sapere aude.) "Have the courage to use your own understanding," is therefore the motto of the enlightenment."

can't believe anyone believed MASSIVE CHALICE not coming to PC,they can't actually change what they promised and people backed it after PROMISED it will come to PC(adding more platform as optional is different Story). as for Grim,I don't see it not coming to PC sooner or later,it's not belong to Sony as far as I concern.

Edit:

Talk about other platforms soon! Sony's been a great help making this happen & we're excited to be working with them on the console version!
