imagine a game as complex as civ.. with a battle system like RTW... would be the most epic game ever made.. you would have to make like 10,000 diff types of unit models lol

You guys are blaspemous for not trusting Sid Meier.
If you don't trust Sid with your life, you not worthy to play Civ! How can you doubt him!
I'm Big in the Scene, Or Da Scenez0rs like us scene people call it.

Sid didn't really have much to do with the development of Civ IV, except to test the game and come with input from time to time...

why is everyone bashing civ3? its the only civ game i've ever played, and I did find it extremely addicting. It can't have been that bad?

I'm not following the scene for quite a number of years... So, usually, how early the groups have been releasing stuff, considering the release date? Just an average...
I would appreciate if flaming could be avoided.
Cheers.

dude seriously, go buy the game. Sid deserves the money for creating software that has lasted over a decade playability wise. If I could get my hands on CIV 1 I would play that right now, but I cant find a copy. So few games out there are made that deserve our money, this is one of them. If you wait for the scene to release the software your probably talking at the earliest thursday probably fri if not sat, scene has been slow for awhile. And dont say I wanna try it out and see if its good, cause there has never been a bad civ game by Sid and the reviews coming in by people at civ fanatics have been very good so far. Dont mean to go on a rant but when people dont buy software when the devs have earned it, its a shame.

games like this deserve to be bought, even if you whack on a no-cd crack and use the retail cd only once to install it. Its cheap compared to other games, and without showing support these brilliant games will die out and we will be left with just FPS and War Games which is what we are already bordering on.

No Civ3 was/is the best game ever made. Perhaps Civ4 will take that place now
