I bought this yesterday due to the high scores on metacritic but I don't get it....granted I only just made it off the tutorial ship but I feel like I am playing a MMO from 10 years ago, typical throw away quests (kill 10 monsters), the quest dialogue is about 4 lines long which makes me want to click through it rather than read, and hardly any voice acting for the dialogue. I get bored after playing more than 30 minutes.
TESO was much better in my opinion.
I will play it a bit more over the next month but I already cancelled my subscription.

I thought it was better than ESO, but I made it to level 25 and uninstalled. Wildstar will undoubtedly be F2P in a year or two.

Its visual style is one of the worst I've seen - horrible character design, dated animations, boring gameplay. I couldn't even finish the tutorial part during beta, it was that bad, even worse than ESO which was yet another painful MMO experience.
Quickly uninstalled and forgotten. Even Defiance is better than this POS...

Sometimes i'm not quite sure what people want from MMO... Back in the days when WOW appeared, everyone were amazed - questing fun! dungeons fun! crafting fun! And now... They are playing "tutorial" and then they say "meh" - uninstall I wonder what is definition of MMO for those people ? To play tutorial, or to quest? IMHO MMO is about endgame. And after reaching endgame, trying it for several weeks... then u can come to a conclusion if this MMO sucks balls or what Oh yeah, reaching endgame means questing What do you want from quest? Solve chemical puzzles or make an assault on bank ? Yes questing in any MMO is about kill that, bring another, go there, defend that. It's the same in EVERY MMO But for wildstar i can bring u lots of examples that questing is not so boring as it was let's say Rift, Marvel heroes and etc... Fly a ship and take down another one, kill a miniboss on a cliff which is floating in the air hundreds meters above ur head, use a transformers suit to kill npc, explore a derelict ship with some twist and turns there I even find some quests overwhelming what i have to do there... And this is just a small example of how questing in Wildstar is NOT boring. Especially when u keep in mind that combat mechanics. This is by far best approach for using such technics in combat for and MMO. In WOW i could stand in one place and press 3 buttons max for a whole boss fight Here in WIldstar u can't stand at one place even fighting one simple NPC. And yes i'm talking about NPC's after level 30. Tha'ts where this game is begining to shine. Oh yeah. I have a secret for all tutorial players - even reaching level 50 u still will be playing tutorial because of all those Tier things in spells. U have so many options for your build. And you can't try it before level 40 Those build mechanics sometimes are so complicated that often reading a smartguy's guide for managing a build u feel like reading a fantasy book Oh yeah, u can take 3 or maybe 5 mobs at a time and kill em. But have u tried alone to kill a mini boss of your own level ? I bet you wouldn't succeed 9 times of 10 Have u tried housing in this game? Runecrafting? Simple crafting? I bet in tutorial levels u didn't do that? So what all those tutorial players did see? NOTHING And the main reason why i play this game is dungeons Yeah i know raids in WOW were epic, but here... dunno how to say... they are MORE EPIC Tanking here is super hard, healing is super hard and fun. Working in a teamplay is more engaging than in any MMO to date. Have u tried 20 or 40 man raids? NO. Cause if u want to do that - u have to make an attunement for that? Do you remember how fun it was in WOW? Here u have to complete hard task to be able to feel what real MMO is It's about socializing, it's about endgame, it's about longetivity. Oh btw and the loot here is amazing too. Have you ever got an epic item with no stats at all? Here u get ones, but... wtf is that? Those items have several imbuements which u have to unlock step by step just to make that gear really good. And believe me... those tasks are hard It envolves questing in a dangerous places. But beware u need friends for that LOTS of friends
Ofc any user has it's own opinion about this wildstar game. One likes graphics, another dislikes it. One loves pathing system, another not so fond of that But if u really want to make an overall assumption of MMO - u HAVE to try all capabilities that game offers. And believe me... if u didin't reach level 50 u can't tell anything about this game core. Like or dislike it, but that's the truth If u want to play an MMO and if u uninstall this game after level 25... well maybe u are in a wrong place
It''s just my personal opinion. I'm not trying to be offensive. And yes i've played couple of major MMO's for a long time so i could say - so far Wildstar has a bright future especially if u are a hardcore player. And even if u are not, u can still enjoy this game by doing housing, doing crafting, doing pathing, doing daily quests, doing adventures - it's up to u really. Keeping in mind that wildstar devs have allready planned 16 monthly content patches, i bet this game will be even better with every day

The thing is that an MMO is not a "single thing" that you want something specific from. It's its own entity - or it should be.
People loved WoW because it was the first MMO to appeal so widely - and to be so accessible. For a lot of people, it was their first "social and extended Diablo" - which is essentially the core of any MMO since the early MUDs.
Eventually, people learned that the "carrot" is an illusion - and that dungeons, while fun, don't actually provide much in the way of meaningful progression.
As such, any dungeon or piece of content is only fun for a limited time - just like in singleplayer games. Do you go back and redo dungeons over and over in Eye of the Beholder? Why not? Isn't it "fun"? No, you want to PROGRESS - and you want to evolve.
It's the nature of things. That's why GW2 failed miserably, in my mind, because it didn't understand this fundamental part of human psychology. I don't care that a lot of people THINK they just want "fun" - because they don't understand their own nature here.
Wildstar is a fine game - but it's ultimately EXTREMELY derivative. You can't "re-experience" WoW like that. You can have a bit of fun with a throwback - and you can spend a few months trying to forget you've done this a million times before.
This genre needs to evolve in a very, very big way - and almost no game is even attempting to do that.
They think evolution means iteration, but it doesn't. It means understanding what I said at first - which is that an MMO is NOT a "single thing" - it's NOT something that's set-in-stone. You HAVE to think outside the box and provide more than endless themepark rides or a vast empty space for people to get bored in.

tutorial shit is terrible, over simplistic and boring. But that is not where the game gets fun.
Again though as I said before in many live dev chat areas, people get turned away from the initial start of the game, and you would think by now people in such line of work would understand if you dont capture and make a good first impression you are on a rocky road.
Never understand why they fall short in this area of a game.

I gave the game plenty of time in beta, and it's boring, derivative and childish. The so called humor is on the Alvin and the chipmunks level.
Aside from some changes to combat, this game is essentially WoW, and I was bored back with WoW. This is a game for kids.

Been level 50 for few days now.
Adventures with pugs are quite easy, gotten few epics already.
Playing Stalker @ Dominion, generally 1st or 2nd in damage (so far always been 1st or 2nd), though I'm mostly facerolling.
Will probably enjoy this for the full month.

I really enjoy this game. Only level 16 or 17 now, didnt had much time to play these last days because I moved to a new place last sunday, so I was in boxes and all that shit for 2 weeks!
STILL
I enjoy this more than ESO and all recent MMO.
Maybe the fact that I didnt play WoW for years help me enjoy this more, since it looks kinda like WoW,in some aspects.

Enlighten me if its just douche bags not playing well or are there serious issues right now with stalker class.

hey guys,
anyone with a guest pass to give away?
I've been giving my guest keys here away to in the past… (Last one was Diablo3 i guess)
Would love to try this mom because most of the mmos disappointed me in the last years. (Guild Wars 2 did not!)
Thanks anyway.
