What bugs me most about the game is how inconsistent it is. Sometimes I can race without any assists with all the difficulty in the world, actually feel I'm racing, and yet own everybody...then sometimes I have to put down the difficulty and race ghetto-style to even have a chance. It's like depending on the type of race and car I chose it's a coin-flip as to what the F my experience will be like. It's only some of the time that it hits the perfect stride...both challenging and feels like a racer. I keep wondering if it's something I'm doing wrong or if the game is just balanced like a drunken four-year-old.
A Sure, I can finish first, but it is frustrating beyond belief because no one in their right mind would ever race like that, not with the cars tuned the way they are in this
Exactly, man! I was a hardcore tuning Gran Turismo (original) fan, and while I accept the shit tuning this game has...the way I have to tune some cars (especially muscle cars, as you mention, which I usually love) is just ridiculously wrong. I thought I was just getting old or maybe had one too many beers but shit, I couldn't believe it. I mean, sure, the Camaro drives like a drifting hog when tuned that way in real life, but in the game it's exaggerated to the point of hilarity/nonsense...considering I have to tune it that way to win.
The street races were actually pretty enjoyable and I did have to put in some real effort to win those races. Definitely not a cakewalk (very hard + HUD + ABS). And they reminded me of the first game. A lot.
It's miles better than GRID 2 at least, just not quite back at GRID 1 yet. I'm sure that for those aren't as sim-loving as some of us here are (we've hijacked the thread MUAHAHAHA) and who doesn't necessarily turn off all assists this is probably a fantastic game. It sure as shit is the best one of its kind since GRID1 and a lot better than any NFS game in recent years.
Just not quite for me. The forced tuner class was just the proverbial drop; it's all the other stupid things. The lolpit with amazomg blur; where looking left or right means putting your head into the door handle apparently. The lack of *any* sensitivity and deadzone sliders. Having tuning options without them actually really doing anything. I still rate GRID 1 higher, but at least the quality graph is pointing upwards now
Strangely, they should take a look at Milestone (yes ixi, I really did just say that), their last few games are still the same buggy things they've always been, but they've progressively done the right thing in all their games when it comes to handling. Still arcadey but they strike a perfect balance.
I won't go that far and delete it now. I'll keep it a couple more days to play some custom events as career mode is an absolute joke. Also I was right that there are no championships like TOCA 3 and career mode with forced disciplines is laughable. Still is a nice pure arcade racer and I really don't have a problem with that as I didn't expect something more sim. But the lack of full customization and the lack of full GT seasons/championships ruins the whole experience for me.
Hmm the season pass only mentions 8 content packs but that could be cars or circuits or just liveries (Probably going to be just packs so you get a bit of everything in some theme perhaps?), still 3 + 3 is 6 and this says 8 so there's some difference in what they said and what this says.
EDIT: Or I could have read the description on Gamersgate and it would have said that it does contain "Routes, cars, game modes and a exclusive garage" heh, whoops.
That's the reason i haven't bought the game. They released just the first half of the game. Fuck that DLC bullshit
Downloaded and tried the arrrr version and while i'm having fun playing it, i just can't get past their laziness (blurred cockpit, the fuck?) and some forced events and so on. Unfortunately i will uninstall it later today because i wanted and expected finished product for playing over MP, but Autosport is far from that. 27,99€ for stupid stupid DLC's which should be in game from the very beginning. Oh, hell no!
No, just get Shit 2, install the community patch, install camera mod for your liking (it will remove the DoF too) and just have fun. Fuck this Analsport. Fuck it in the ass.
So NFOpion? Is this worth a download when I get home, or dare I say; worth a buy?
Not a buy, and it already lost my attention after two days. It is really better than Grid 2, they went to the sim direction.. But as a full package it still comes short.
So try it, after all it's just bandwidth wasted and maybe you'll enjoy it for a bit.
Sorry bud, I'm on my phone and it's not exactly conducive to the most pleasant browsing Looking above I just saw a bunch of posts talking about DLC and whatnot, which I can safely ignore since it's all "free" anyway, lol.
I guess I'm the only one actually enjoying the Tuner races because... They are actually challenging. Using a G25, AI on hardest setting, everything except the HUD is off and I'm having a decent time. Drifting is still nowhere near the real shit, but I haven't seen a videogame where it does. I play a lot of Assetto Corsa and some parts of GRID feel better imho, you can feel the weight of the car and the grip shifting a bit better.
