I guess so. Something strange though.. when I bought it today, the timer had 2-3 hours left.. I checked back after a while and it's still showing it on sale.. guess they extended it. Anyway, the game isn't 'ready-to-run' out of the box, you gotta fiddle, config inspector properly (adpative v-sync is a must), sweetfx and some ini crap for it to REALLY shine. Once you done that, figure out the controls and go racing online.. the online portion of it is kinda intricate.. reminds me of GT5's lobby a bit. OVERALL really worth the money.
If I remember correctly it was a flash/community sale before, and yesterday it was a daily
Flash/community is 8 hours, daily is 48 hours.
Wanted to buy it, but since I already got quite a few games (and I might pop on a few others) I'm going to wait with this one till they are further in their development.
The pictures you see are not real. It's renders of some pro modeler. Project started in 2013, but it's progressing nicely.. already exported into the game.
What's this like compared to Pcars? I've been having a blast at Oulton park in the 1986 Lotus Renault Turbo for the past two weeks, love it
I don't like arcade racers, zero driving aids for me using a G27 wheel.
Is Assetto comparable to pcars or a more realistic driving model ect..
Haven't played pCars in a while, so I can't make a 1:1 comparison with the latest builds, but the game is definitely a simulation. If you're familiar with netKar Pro, you'll see some similarities handling-wise. You'll have a lot of fun with your G27, I can guarantee you that.
The only "downside" is that the official contents in terms of cars and circuits are a bit lacking (especially the latter), but since the modding scene is thriving here, it's not really a problem, just like it happened with rFactor.
I feel that Assetto Corsa has a more realistic and familiar feeling in handling than Project Cars. Of course ive never driven a GT level car but i feel more at home in Corsa. Specially drifting that M3 BMW, its so damn spot on.

I tried it, the game has some problems yet, but I think it's actually the best car simulator on the market, now.
Before todays 1.0.1 update the game just crashed and it still crashes when you change pixel shaders during the game too fast. Performance is ok but the game is too dark and it definitely needs some balancing
When doing WHAT? I don't think mine has ever crashed on its own, without me helping it (eg. alt-tabbing).
If the game is too dark, then you can always experiment with the post-process filters available in the PP app. One of them is waaay too bright for me, so it might be ok for you. You can also try upping the brightness of your monitor ;]
And what do you mean by balancing? That some cars are faster than others?
In the carreer mode. I selected Pro for handling but maybe I'm just to dumb to find a setting for AI driving skills. As I am currently forced to use my 360 controller instead of my fanatec, driving in time attack is quite easy (getting gold is a piece of cake) but the enemy ai drivers are incredibly fast and that in the second race in the carreer :/ Only managed a bronze medal.
As I said the game crashed durding changes to the post processing and with 1.0.0 it crashed anytime you actually wanted to drive.
There should be a setting for the AI in one of the pre-race menus as far as I remember (I'm currently re-downloading the latest version) . It's very true about the tracks, it's this game's achilles' heel along with the lack of rain (it will probably be implemented in the future, though). You can find many conversions at Racedepartment, but the quality goes from decent to below-average.
