No he's banned because he made an offensive remark against Jenny, simple as that.
As far baleur goes, I've temp banned him with a warning. Racism isn't allowed in any way here and some where offended therefor he gets banned as a warning.

Damn you just beat me to it Apex.  . Actually I banned him because of the remark I quoted. Simple as that. As for calling me a racist, what do you base that upon?
I also missed Baleurs post, it was 5:30am and I was shattered.

MJ got out because he could afford too .. fair play to him .. not that he will find an any less freaked out society where he is going .. & as for banning .. folks its the mods that make those decisions so we don’t have too .. simple as that .. unless we are willing to back up the mods decisions we cant expect them to be mods can we .. IMO no banning is over one post ever .. usually a developing disregard for others that peeks with one really ignorant post ..
fair play jenny .. unless we trust you to make good judgment calls .. how are you supposed to be able to hay ..

There are personal attacks toward many members here going on for a while.
But it’s good to know that mods are able to step up when they’re needed.
For a while it seemed that “moderator” was just a label.

is offensive in my eyes. Not to mention that fisk has been banned numerous times and every time he gets away with it or he's temp banned. I've seen other members been perm banned for less, so don't give me the "why ban him?" stuff. He just was out of line.

Alot of members here start to find it normal that there's alot of bitchin and offensive stuff going on around here, well it's not!
Apparantly it''s pretty hard for some to make normal conversation with people without making bitchy comments.
Baleurs post apparantly offended people. It might be a misunderstanding, but he could have put it different. A temp ban of a day for that will not kill him.
So could we get back on topic or is that too much too ask?

My take on this, is there are 1 or 2 mods (who will remain nameless) who either let their personal bias/feelings direct them or are simply to ban happy. But generally, I think all the mods, the active ones anyway, do a good job at keeping the forums decent.
Bitching is allowed and flaming to an extent is allowed. I personally dont feel that what Fisk said deserves a banning as the NAME Waffen-SS is FAR more offensive, in many many ways, than what fisk said - as fisk was just being a smartass, i dont think it was meant to be taken litterally. But, im not a mod.
As for Baleur, since I took it personally, I dunno. His statement is very clear in what it means, but at the same time i was very surprised as he's one guy ive never had a problem with - over pm's, board, etc he was generally cool. Im hopig its a misunderstanding, but at the sametime its very very racist as essentially saying someone that has brown skin is dirty, is basically calling a black guy a "nigger" - it means the EXACT samething, "nigger" means unclean, dirty, lower than life etc if used in a racially charged way (of course when black guys call each other "nigga's" its a term of endearment - even that kinda bothers me sometimes, gives off a bad impression).
And Ive said on many occasions, those who I know arent racist can call me whatever the fuck they wanna call me - im sure u all know the names. It doesnt bother me as im not a "nigger" or whatever, so why should I be offended ya know? 
But to say something as generally as racist as the line in question, is completely tasteless in my view and is even worse than simply calling me a "nigger" ya know?
Anyway, just my thoughts

Agree all you like. I banned him for a disgusting comment and like I said I missed the racist comment it was 5:30am and I was tired.
I stand by the ban I made. I've banned him before because of his abuse. Third time is a strike out in my opinion. Although it will have to be discussed in the mods forum to perm ban a senior member such as he.

This is nothing major peeps...
Waffen-ss is perm banned because he's skyline-gtr and ofcourse the name is ridicilous. Fisk just has another temp ban from which he will be back and baleur's case might be a misunderstanding or misinterpretation, but maybe next time he'll formulate his posts more carefully with this sort of stuff...people can get offended

I was simply saying i agree, it wasnt directed at u - u let ur personal feelings and bias's get in the way of being a mod far to much, as far as I'm and most of the reg user's are concerned. The snarky remark isnt called for....
Perm ban for what....? I know u dont like him, but that doesnt mean jack, as far as rules and such are concered...U, on many occassions have....wait, Im not gunna get into this here (as Apex asked)...inappropriate, but I will bring up my issue to a mod/admin.
Anyway, this thread is gettin far to heated for my liking.
I suggest, to the user's (reg or not) if y'all have a problem, keep it to pm's and the like and let an admin/another mod know of the situation - as questioning a mod in a pub thread isnt a good idea and auto sets them in a defensive position, which isnt fair to either side as nothing is accomplished, just arguments arise.
But this issue does need discussion, for sure (of both the user and the mod in qustion). |

You said you agreed but you're not very specific. The thing that's starting to piss me right off is the fact that I as a mod am the only one whom has to justify any actions I take. I banned him and not for the first time because of his comment. It clearly states in the rules that theres no abuse allowed. I'm just following those rules as a mod. Who said I don't like him? You're reading too much into the situation. My personal reasons don't even touch this. He didn't follow the rules and he was banned, simple as that. |
