I seemed to do quite fine ignoring it unless: I was watching the matches on stream, chatting on the WC thread or reading the sport section in the newspaper.
All my other activities didn't contain WC. Then again I don't give a damn about social media, TV or having a bunch of friends for the sake of having friends and it helps that my 'intellectual sites' don't give a damn about the WC.
So for a thing that only happens every 4 years... njeh not so bad.
