So I've been using an extension called All Mangas Reader to read manga online. It's amazing for it if you read a lot of manga like I do... Basically what it does is it lets you add a manga to the list and it'll keep track of what chapter you're on as well as when new chapters come out, it also reformats many online manga reader sites so you get all the pages on one page instead of having to click a button to get to the next page over and over again.

And yeah, I read a lot of different manga all at the same time so it was essential to keeping track of my progress.

But it's not on the Chrome store, you have to install it outside of it, and Google decided a while back to start blocking off any extension that isn't on their store. I had no fucking idea until it just did it, so now I'm stuck with the extension disabled, meaning I can't even see what my progress was on all the different mangas I was reading. Is there any possible way for me to force extensions to load? Fucking assholes. First they remove the sidetab tweak you could do a few years ago (which made me use Firefox 95% of the time and is a MUST HAVE when you have a widescreen monitor) and now this shit, I'm done with Chrome unless there's a solution for this shit.

I've been using the dev channel for a while now. Installing extensions works just like before - drag and drop the .crx into the extensions tab.

Installed right on top of the normal one, and not a single issue anymore, thanks Very Happy

What is the difference between this one and the regular one?

http://www.chromium.org/getting-involved/dev-channel

Stable channel: This channel has gotten the full testing and blessing of the Chrome test team, and is the best bet to avoid crashes and other issues. It's updated roughly every two-three weeks for minor releases, and every 6 weeks for major releases.

Beta channel: If you are interested in seeing what's next, with minimal risk, Beta channel is the place to be. It's updated every week roughly, with major updates coming every six weeks, more than a month before the Stable channel will get them.

Dev channel: Want to see what's happening quickly, then you want the Dev channel. The Dev channel gets updated once or twice weekly, and it shows what we're working on right now. There's no lag between major versions, whatever code we've got, you will get. While this build does get tested, it is still subject to bugs, as we want people to see what's new as soon as possible.

Canary build: Canary builds are the bleeding edge. Released daily, this build has not been tested or used, it's released as soon as it's built. Because there's no guarantee that it will even run in some cases, it uses it's own profile and settings, and can be run side by side another Chrome channel. By default, it also reports crashes and usage statistics to Google (you can disable this on the download page).

Other builds: If you're absolutely crazy, you can download the latest working (and that's a very loose definition of working) build by going to the Chromium continuous build waterfall, looking at the number near the top under "LKGR", and then going to this Google Storage bucket and downloading the corresponding build.

It seems like they may be undoing the "disable plugins" thing in upcoming versions then, if the Dev Channel version has that "feature" removed?

I doubt it, they probably just never implemented the changes in the dev/Canary channel so that developers could still use those to create/test extensions. I didn't even know there were any changes since I've been using the dev one for over a year now. It gets performance improvements faster and I'm yet to encounter any problems or crashes.

I'm on Canary most of the time, because vanilla doesn't support some stuff or has silly bugs.

Doesn't work for me. I'm on Dev Channel and all the "non Store" extensions are still blocked Sad

~edit~

Wait, never mind. I couldn't click the tickbox to enable at first but I kept trying and then it worked Very Happy Thanks man, Dev Channel build DOES work.

It's so bloody stupid it makes one's iq drop sharply.. If someone is installing addons manually it's obvious he's an advanced user and he knows what he's doing, so malware is not a concern.

Clearly they want you to use only the extensions they approve.

Chrome is rendering 3D translated html elements really fast. But the contents look blurry as fuck, gradients have visible steps and translations can leave visible artefacts.

Firefox is not that fast (especially with text-shadow effects and so on), but the fonts and content looks just crisp, the gradients look perfect and translations don't leave artefacts.

YT comment were and still a toilet even with G+ integration which forces your comment to be public on your g+ profile (if you gave a fuck). now it's funny to see all these "legit" celebrities calling everyone a faggot on there. It's truly pathetic how google in an act of sad desperation had to use YT to give poor g+ some traffic.
I can't even loginto the thing in pale moon cuz it blocks the popup necessary for me to log into g+ through YT

Where the fuck did my custom search functionality go?

The one where you can right click any form field and then create a shortcut like "Y" for the youtube search field and in the addressbar you could enter on any page "y russian car crash compilation" and it would directly open youtube with a search for russian car crash compilation? Mad
