Just watched Coherence and wrote this in the Non-HD thread, I'd recommend it if you like sci-fi movies set in the now:

I remember seeing the trailer a few months back and it looked great, then I completely forgot about it. Anyone have a chance to see this, mini-review perhaps?
The first 15-20 minutes are really REALLY annoying because of the stupid (although realistic) drama between the characters but after that the plot starts happening and it becomes a very interesting movie with a good plot. It's absolutely worth a watch if you like movies that have some neat ideas to them.
End spoiler thoughts:
Spoiler:
But I did find the ending a bit annoying. Yes, it's clearly some version of Em contacting the boyfriend telling him something about the Em we've been following. Probably the same Em she beat up in the bathroom/drugged at the car, although we obviously can't be sure. It's not that it's a bad ending but I typically don't like endings that don't really tell us what happens to the characters after their ordeal... Still though, acceptable ending.
What I liked about the movie is that if you think about it, there are small differences between each consecutive universe/house/versions of characters we see (the bandaid, the glass breaking etc) but most as far as we know came up with the box idea, and many obviously came up with the threatening letter. So obviously one can assume that MANY (or maybe most) versions of Em decided to leave her reality to find a more happier reality she'd want to stay in (like what we see in the ending), this means that there could be many more versions of herself other than the one she beat up currently occupying the universe she ended up in, and a bunch of less happy universes where she stopped existing due to leaving.
That's why I think it's comparable to Primer (mostly), Triangle and I guess Timecrimes to some deegre, as it allows for many possibilities and it's fun to think about. I still think Primer is the best of all these four movies but this definitely in the same category or how one should say.
There is one thing I didn't like about the movie (except the first 15-20 minutes of course) and that was the whole book thing, it felt really random and far reaching. Oh hey guys, there's this weird astronomical thing happening and weird stuff is happening because of it, maybe, so lets find a book about physics so us normal idiots can understand the quantum physics at work here. Oh, that's real handy, this book just so happened to have notes on the exact phenomenon happening right now and I just happened to find it immediately.................... Yeah, I'm sorry but that was just really stupid.
Guys, just watched it.... what... a ... fucking.... fantastic movie!
Holy shit, I knew I would be in for something different but this one totally blew me away. One of the coolest plots I've had the pleasure of seeing in a while.
Yondaime, I was thinking the same as you... really made me think of Primer, which is a good thing.
Smart movie, engaging, original, thrilling, and overall good.
9/10 for me, will watch again for those little details I may have missed.

Kick-Ass 2 - 4/10 - The only things I enjoyed were Chloe Moretz and Jim Carrey, the rest was a mix between average and crap. Using Chloe Moretz mainly for shitty highschool drama was completely retarded, made absolutely no sense. There was also too much pubescent humor. "Motherfucker" as a bad guy? Ha ha.
They should ditch the kick-ass bullshit and make a Hit-Girl movie.
Guardians Of The Galaxy: 9/10 - Fantastic movie, love everything about it, a few plot holes, but other than that i have no complaints. Offers entertainment from the beginning to the end.
I was going to watch Guardians of the Galaxy this weekend, but that will have to wait till next week as "The Fault in Our Stars" unexpectedly opened this weekend and I promised my niece to go watch it with her on the opening day
