Hi, i posted the same question in golden oldies, but since rarely anyone checks that part of the forum and i'm eager to play it, i'm asking here.
I decided to to install Freelancer and replay it once again, but for this playthrough i would like to play with some mods. So i'm asking for your suggestions 
First things first, i want some widescreen and better graphics mode. I found one for widescreen, but i'm afraid it wont be compatible with other mods so i'm still in a search. Next, is there some campaign mode (SP) which improves it with more ships, star systems, weapons, side missions, but doesn't change the main storyline? I found Crossfire 1.9, but as i see this extends the story after the main events. Mod looks fantastic, but i want to replay the main part of the game too. Is there anything like this?
I suppose i need Unofficial 1.4 update to fully enjoy the experience, right?

To be honest, you're best off waiting for Crossfire 2.0, if it ever comes out, as most of the large mods out there are total conversions geared more towards MP. Most will add ships/equip that are compatible with the base game, but not much else, like missions etc. I recommend reading up on Discovery or The Next Generation.

Discovery is great in MP. On a decently populated server it feels like a mmo done right.

Starlight Inception, Eve, X-Series, Evocjron, Darkstar One, ZigFrak, amongst many many others. All fun, none of them Freelancer, and while SC originally looked to be a worthy substitute, it now simply seems to be a troll-infested first person EVE with ball-shrivelling system requirements. Neither ED nor Limit Theory look to be competitors either  Freelancer was a freak occurrence , ne'er to be repeated

The indication was again in the main page comments, one of the guys working on the mod said it was coming soon.

Been clicking about for 5 minutes on ModDB.
Think im going to have a play why we wait for all these other sims to land.

Phew... Was finally able to grab a copy of freelancer, time to check this bad boy out.... Just in time!

Eh... ok so just because it's been a while.
Is there any way to force the game into 1920x1080? Also it keeps bugging me about a multi-player ID I don't have. Using version 1.0 of the game with a no cd exe.

Should I just download crossfire, and that changes all the settings?

But the other space sim games i've tried are far from Freelancer. This game is just unrepeatable.
