Good trailer, but the trailer was also the only thing I liked about the first game.

DI was great, loved every second of it. Including Riptide.

I'm actually REALLY happy that DI2 is going more urban than tropical, we've done the "island" thing. It's time to get into town! Very Happy

This runs on UE4 as far as I know, so it didn't really. Also, look ok I guess, but Dying Light looks more like Dead Island than this since it's made by the same people... why not call this something else and the other one Dead Island 2. I just... ugh...

Looks fun, though I guess we can call these reverse survival games since here it seems it's the zombies that try to survive the player. Razz

I hope it's more varied than the original.

My friends and I played both previous games and were bored to death by the repetitive nature of both games.

Believable and relatable...Yep, sounds like Call of Duty

It's because DI 2 runs on UT 4 and not that horrible Chrome Engine 5.

Kind of weird that they're still using the name Dead Island when this new one seems to be set in Los Angeles.

Well Far Cry 2 was set in the middle of Africa and had nothing in common with the past game other than being a first person shooter, just marketing using a popular name or brand or at least a somewhat established one.
(Nothing new there, I guess they're afraid of trying to establish new franchises or just hoping to do anything to maximize sales or profits? Of course this game is actually similar to Dead Island in gameplay, from what little we've seen the video at least.)

EDIT: Wonder what would have happened if Spec Ops had sold better and Yager had made the game in a more dramatic or realistic (Well for zombies.) setting, then again this might be better in terms of gameplay and of course multiplayer.

I just meant it's weird to call it Dead Island when Los Angeles isn't on an island. Although I guess it could allude to the city being cut off from the outside world, sort of like an island.

That was definitely better than I expected. Still looks like a Dead Island game, but it's more over-the-top, without being too silly. Besides, the true sequel is Dying Light, although the names are indeed a tad misleading. Very Happy Laughing

Yeah it's developed by Yager (Published by Deep Silver I think which retained the rights to the franchise name.) and instead of UE3 which they used for Spec-Ops it should be using UE4 now.

Techland is working on Dying Light with Chrome Engine 6 which is a update to what the previous games used.
(I thought Call of Juarez: Gunslinger looked pretty nice though. Smile )
