Did you notice a scene where our hero was fighting with a pirate and another pirate was standing there doing nothing, just moving backwards and forward? Hello, assasin creed!
But at least in AC fighting looks..I dunno.. fluid
Jeez you can tell who has and hasn't played the older PB games here
They say don't judge a book by it's cover, don't judge a gothic game by it's unco combat played on a shitty console (looked jittery as fuck). Gothic 1/2 looked and controlled unco as well but it was a fun system when you learned it, the same could be true here.
Cautiously optimistic after the let down that was Risen 2.
I think the game looking and running like shit on old consoles might be a good thing for PC. An optimistic man might think they didn't compromise to make it run on old consoles.
As for gameplay, many RPGs look bad when watching a gameplay vid.

Mortal kombat has more fluid combat than AC series.
That's about as valid as comparing risen to ac series?

Is there magic in this installment, or is it like in Risen 2 where magic had mostly a supportive role and it would be unwise to play a pure mage?

Can you? I played them all.

If they do action oriented button mashing combat (I hate this one in RPGs) )why not?
Besides, I meant that combat looked fugly and clunky , that's it. Gothic series was exactly the same. I just hope we can play as a proper mage in risen 3.

I have no doubt the combat will be the weakest thing in risen 3, but bad combat never ruined an rpg for me.
Hell, in gothic 2, i could use a mage staff to keep a lot of low tier enemies out of reach forever. A simple staff was better at melee then 90% of actual melee weapons.
It looked crappy but overall, the game was amazing.
The mage looks like a battlemage to me really. But we shall know for sure, soon

-Combat quibbles and muddy graphics do little to spoil the fun of this enjoyable RPG.
Strategyinformer 8/10
-Despite still having a few issues Risen 3: Titan Lords is a vast improvement on Risen 2.
Cramgaming 8/10
-If you’re a fan of action role playing games, then there’s a lot to like about Risen 3 which offers some pleasant and open ended adventuring.
TPreview 7/10
-Overall Risen 3 is an entertaining RPG. It doesn’t innovate or set any new standards, but it is fun and much more challenging than the standard fare.
Gameinformer 7/10
-While Risen 3 doesn’t have great combat or an enthralling story, there’s a lot of content to delve into for those hungry for an open-world action/RPG, and that might be enough to entice fans to give it a try.
Escapist 2/5
-Bloated in the mission department, threadbare everywhere else, Risen 3: Titan Lords is cobbled together from rehashed material, and the series' many flaws are enhanced a hundredfold in the process.
The way I see it, every life is a pile of good things and bad things. The good things don’t always soften the bad things, but vice versa, the bad things don’t always spoil the good things and make them unimportant.
