Great game!

Finished it in 2 sittings though, but at heart it is a platformer mixed with gears of war type of gameplay so there is no free roaming to talk about. No straying off the predetermined path..

I doubt anyone could get more than 10 hours of gameplay from this... Still it's 10 hours well spent Wink

Never too late - it's not a game based on technology or gimmickry. I actually found it's cinematic styling to be more effective than say something like Metal Gear Solid, it's very slick. The only criticism I'd have is the amount of combat you end up getting involved in... Can get annoying to be honest as a few times you'd like to slow down and do a bit more exploring (a la Tomb Raider) but it'll throw a ton of enemies at you. Still, it moves along at a nice pace.

I was surprised I liked it so much. I wouldn't necessarily buy a PS3 for it because as I say it's not really anything other than an extremely good game, but it'd be the first thing I'd recommend to anyone who has bought a PS3.

I finally got a PS3 a while back.
Picked this game up (used for $12.00).
It really is a good game. But I wouldn't have paid top price for it.
However, seeing how good it actually is makes me hyped up for Uncharted 2 because my main gripe with this one is the length and no multiplayer. The 2nd one has a ton of features and seems like it will have a lot of replay value. Can't wait.

So you enjoying part 1 atm Big Gun ?

Received advertisement of a toy store wich gives 10% discount on consoles , I hope they get the bundle of uncharted 2 then I will buy it there instead of the shop I ordered it from , store I ordered from ask normal price 350 euro but the toy store will be 315 then for the 250gig bundle version wich is really a bargain.

yes I am enjoying quite a lot.
What was supposed to be a "let me see a little of the game" session ended up being a 3 hour affair. Time went by really fast while I was playing it and I wanted to push the story forward because I found it interesting. The character animations, voice acting... really really quality stuff. Right up there with the best i have ever seen or heard in a video game.

As i said, due to the shortness of it (I am reading it takes about 10 hours to complete), I wouldn't have paid full price. but at 12 bucks, it was a steal.

So, like I am almost half way done with the game and it's pretty silly.

Cut scene, kill some bad guys, kill some more bad guys, done some silly puzzles, kill more bad guys and rinse and repeat..

But, I hear that second/third one is way better? Very Happy

Yes they are. The first one was boring cuz of corridors, ennemies waves and cutscenes. In 2 and 3, there are less corridors, more sight seeing, less ennemies (although still a lot) and better puzzles.

I know that's not the general consensus here but having played 3 before 2, I preferred UC3. UC2 beginning is really slow paced IMO, while UC3 is fast paced all over the game (except the last level, it sucked).

I think it's because I played 3 before 2 and others played 2 before 3.

That being said, I still suggest you to do 2 before 3 because of the story (although all 3 are all independent, most of the characters are still the same).

Off-topic but my favorite PS3 exclusive is Heavy Rain anyway. Very Happy

Yea. I'm going to do 2 and then 3. My goal is to finish them by end of the month but not sure. Having rough time with this one so far, not because it's hard (getting better with aim and ammo) but it's just so boring.

After I finish it, I will just pretend that it doesn't exist, same with InFamous 1.

wtf who plays games like that? so you spoil and ruin UC2 by playing UC3 first and then blame that it's not so good. you only have yourself to blame for playing games not in correct order. oh, and it's widely known UC2 is the best of the 3, both across critics and gamers alike. even ND admitted UC3 isn't as good because it was a bit rushed to meet holiday season deadline.

PS. uncharted1 wasn't boring at all.

easily it's the worst of the 3, but also you are playing a game almost a decade after it was released. not all games age well.

Chill out man. To each his own. I don't care what people say, I consider uc3 my favorite.

Have a problem with that ?

Also I didn't spoil UC2 at all by playing UC3... The story in all 3 is irrelevant and barely tied. Also I played UC2 2 years after UC3, so I had forgotten the story anyway...

for me uc2 is by far the best because of the beautiful tibet setting later on, and some of the most epic setpieces in gaming.
it had the best soundtrack and gameplay of them all and also was significantly longer with more diverse locations.

Gameplay was exactly the same for me in UC3 Neutral Unless you meant the 1.00 version which had a weird aiming...

And soundtrack was as good in UC3 as UC2 for me...

The desert setting was awesome too.

Did you play UC2 before UC3?

Then that confirms my theory : you like it more simply because you played it before.

Same thing with people telling me MGS1 is miles better than MGS2.

I played the PC version of MGS1 for the first time years after MGS2 and thought it was worst...

And probably same thing with people having played AC1 before AC2 Wink

haha wtf, mgs1 is miles better than mgs2, obviously not graphically, but everything else is much better.

dont be such a gfx whore Razz

and no, i played ac1 before 2 and still find ac1 to be by far the worst ac.

2 > 3 > 1 for me

not to say that the first game was terrible, I just enjoyed them in that order best. I'm sure Uncharted on PS4 will be great though Very Happy

Yep, 2>3>1 here as well.

But I found all of them pretty lacking, even 2. TR felt like a better game overall, probably due to the way the game is set on one big island, and how exploration is a little more emphasized than in any of the Uncharted games.
The cutscenes and the character are very well made, but everything else is a huge "meh" .
With minor exceptions, I found the combat in all 3 games tedious as hell. Again, I found that TR did a better job on this aspect as well.

Hehe, most of us feel the same way. I enjoyed them all, bu pt 2 was just outstanding for what it was at the time.
