5.94 GB, uses the Unity engine though it seems to also rely on a command line parameter to start properly (Configured via Steam.) since starting the exe directly will just display a error message.

And some screens, CTRL+H toggles the HUD though I can't do anything about the FOW.

That's the Kickstarter pledge amount, however you can also buy beta access separately for ~40$ I think but you need the base game as well (Meaning the total would be around 70$ or so.) since that's not included, someone will probably upload it eventually though. Smile
(And yes you can zoom in and out though not by much.)

Characters look almost invisible against some backgrounds, how they could even pass that to the people? Sad

Anyway, waiting for some "release" of that beta, guess its to early for any info on that matter?

Known issue, there's a pretty large list of currently known issues in that latest status update they posted.
(Along with other beta information such as what's included, level range, other limitations such as excluding main plot details and having only generic companions.)

Jonas pls... that is what crackers are for Troll Face

Wonder if they'll actually be able to target the Winter 2014 release date.

Heh true, although to clarify in this case it's not really a copy protection system (Like running the game without having Steam started.) and more like how the game won't work at all unless you specify a certain set of commands first, some Steam games do this internally when you start them. Smile

Example with Painkiller HD:
http://steamdb.info/app/214870/config/

" 0/arguments: -seekfreeloadingpcconsole -fullscreen "

No idea what Path of Exile is using, maybe it can be looked up in some way unless SteamDB has a entry for it already.

EDIT: Path of Exile, whoops, should of course be Project Eternity or "Pillars of Eternity".

And what expert mode does? Do other options like normal/hard/path of the damned affect some bonuses for beating harder mobs?

Path of the Damned is a special difficulty mode where enemies get a 50% stat increase and there was some other things as well I don't quite remember, Expert Mode means the game gives you less feedback and hints or something like that so you need to know the various mechanics yourself.

Then there's Big Head mode in the options menu which will probably make your characters heads larger.
("Thanks Josh" I think the description for that was.)

EDIT: Other gameplay options include when the game will auto-pause, if companions should die or just get wounded ("maimed") in combat and various feedback such as color circles around the player characters or quest notification pop-ups.

I'm not tier enough to try out the beta. Sad

"Enlightenment is man's emergence from his self-imposed nonage. Nonage is the inability to use one's own understanding without another's guidance. This nonage is self-imposed if its cause lies not in lack of understanding but in indecision and lack of courage to use one's own mind without another's guidance. Dare to know! (Sapere aude.) "Have the courage to use your own understanding," is therefore the motto of the enlightenment."

The character creation is pretty advanced already although the character customization is a bit basic although the "Godlike" races are pretty unique. Smile

I haven't played it much either aside from a quick start by creating a character and walking around a bit in the village.

EDIT: Some more screenshots.

Maybe he means the major spoiling and ruining a potentially epic playthrough with a beta testing experience, just because he couldn't wait for the full release.

It's a early beta release, several known issues and many other bugs plus missing assets and placeholder content. Smile

It's also a bit more of a demo since the beta has cut out the main storyline (To avoid spoilers.) and you can only explore a small part of the game currently.
(The entire beta is a separate product from the full version, helps Obsidian with updates I suppose and it also means you get another key so you can have the full game on what platform you prefer whether GoG or Steam. Smile )

Guy_Incognito - nope.

I would be more calm if this would be called pre-alpha or something, list of stuff that needs fixing is gigantic but thats not the real problem, the real problem is I simply just dont have "that feeling" and I grown up on playing ALL those oldschools rpg, played all of them and finished most of them. I had (still have) high hopes for Pillars and Numenera (not so much for wasteland 2 but wouldnt mind if it turns out to be great) but as for now (that backers beta) it simply doesnt feel right, at least not for me.

Will give it another shot later but first impressions are dissapointing overall, not even talking about TONS of bigger or smaller bugs/errors that are probably (I hope so) beta related.

@ramalan I see. I guess it's not enough just to copy paste BG's mouse cursor, dialogues window etc Laughing
