If you want to shoot, go for Borderlands (1 and/or 2) and Dead Islands (1 and/or Riptide).
They work very well through LAN.

Have a look there: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0Ag4N-cMIzX_JdHoyVnZIdEo0ZTVsN2xrTDJ6M0taMEE#gid=1

Why does that list have Battlefield 2? Does it have offline LAN?

PD2 doesn't have LAN, why are you guys suggesting it? If they are gonna play online, they can do it from their home, no need for LAN party Laughing

These ones have seen me and friends through all nighters in the past:

- Diablo 2: Median XL or POE.

- Supcom, TA, Starcraft: Competitive is fun, Also getting insanely hard AI and trying to beat it down in co-op is good as well.

- Terraria, I still reckon Starbound is a bit meh.

- Civilization4+, the simultaneous turn mode makes the game quite good in multiplayer.

Don't forget GTA2, it's a LOT OF FUN in LAN. We did this all the time at school next to UT99.

Age of Mythology HD and Payday 2 don't have LAN, dude. Just because the PCs are in a LAN doesn't mean the games are LAN games.

When we say LAN party we mean offline, don't we guys? Also, what was that about Battlefield 2, noone replied to me.

I have to say I am generally disappointed by the quality of the discussion in this thread and will submit a former protest to the authorities.

Doesn't your friend have internet access? Any game on Steam should suffice, just connect with everyone to the same server Confused

@VGAdeadcafe Yes BF2 has LAN out of the box. I used to own a gaming center and some of the most memorable moments were in BF2. We had a war room where people could strategize before hand with a huge whiteboard that printed out the plan on thermal FAX paper. Nerd-Gasmic times indeed!

new Rise of the Triad. I hated the SP, but we played MP in our last LAN and I had a stupid grin on my face the whole time, others reported the same

Also Broodwar (or Open Rebellion mod for grins). Always Unreal Tournament

All work Offline

SWAT 4 (+ Stetchkov expansion); and try to use lethal weapons and set your goal to achieve the highest possible score out of 100 possible. That means shouting at suspects and giving them a moment to give up (Or possibly try to attack you) which is a huge risk instead of just blasting them down like in any shooter. I feel that's where SWAT 4 shines. It is very rewarding to accomplish missions in co-op like that. Knowing you have power to kill but trying to restrain yourselves to save both hostages and suspects. Lately me & my friends' absolute favourite is Broforce (and there is a Expendables standalone reskin of Broforce available for FREE). Up to 4 players, campaign, deathmatch, explosion run (running from explosions to the end of the level) and one more challenge i forgot.
Great game to play on 1 screen, although i *THINK" there is an online option, never used it.

Excellent game for drinking parties Smile
