30FPS locked racing game on PC. I don't know what to say. Are You Serious

Yes, it can be unlocked, but locking it to begin with is just Mind Is Full Of Fuck

"Optimized for 30FPS" Are You Serious

There is actually an option in the options menu for the FPS, just greyed out now. So i presume that they will unlock it later.

I'm just surprised not more people are whining about the handling. No it's not about sim vs arcade, I play both type of games... but with this beta it seems like it gotten even worse than last time.

Really wondering if people whom like it are actually into race games or are more the type of: sure I'll play it once in a while. Handling still feels like you'd drive a car in a game like watch dogs (hell GTA has always had better handling than these boats Razz)

It annoys me, because I love the cruising around the US. Just all the rest is bland and poorly done

Have to agree, not as worse as WD maybe, but I am driving a Camaro (generally Muscles), so I wasn't sure if I just sucked Razz Some car sounds are pretty sweet.

It's a little bit too boaty. Other than that it's quite a nice title. (Dodge Charger R/T costing 283k is a bit weird tho, this must be a rare one or have an immense power under the hood Laughing )

Anyone know if it's at all possible to change the gear up/gear down keybinds on the 360 controller through some .ini file? I always put them on X for down & Y for up but it doesn't let you bind them in the in-game options Sad

Shifting gears with the analog stick is just awkward as fuk.

The way I see it, every life is a pile of good things and bad things. The good things don’t always soften the bad things, but vice versa, the bad things don’t always spoil the good things and make them unimportant.

Right, so I played this for a bit Troll Dad

And..it's not as bad as I expected Poker Face

TL;DR for those of short attention sp..wait, I lost you already, didn't I?

Let's start with the quick bits, good things first:
- There's a motherfucking cockpit view
- There's manual shifting
- It doesn't look like something that could've come out of my ass

The bad:
- Dat framerate limit
- Dat input lag
- Dat input in general - everything about it feels unresponsive
- Dat sound Facepalm
- It does look like something from a year or 3 ago
- No sense of speed whatsoever; but that might be the retarded 30 FPS cap

That's the quick and obvious bits. The input is just plain horrible. Dumbass bindings aside (shifting on RS? Really?), the steering is incredibly unresponsive. It centers very slowly, there's a very noticeable delay before your input starts doing something and overall just doesn't feel nice.

And then the handling. So let me get one thing out of the way: it's not as bad as the recent NFS game (The Diarrhea, MW, HP - those). Not by a long shot. This one is much less forgiving; if you crash into something - you crash into it properly. If you hit the curb at high speed, especially with your wheels out of alignment - you will spin the fuck out like you should. Your car isn't some crazy tank-like vehicle that can ram through everything, hitting other cars will bring you to a halt. Unfortunately, damage is still bullshit.

That said: it still handles very weird. I think everyone knows by now just how bad I think NFS is and what my idea of arcade is. Between arcade and sim, there's a bit of a grey area; Grid 1 is smack in the middle with its forgiving semi-sim handling. Shift 1 and 2 are to the right of it, towards the sim side of the spectrum; much less forgiving. To the left we have things like Driver: SF; it has some realistic aspects in the sense that too much throttle will have you spinning like the tool that you are, there's some sense of weight shifting.

This one tries to be like the first Grid game. The problem it has is that it is just not responsive. Just the input already messes this up (first Grid was beautifully responsive), but the cars themselves are just absolute horsecrap. I test drove all 4 cars; of which 3 ironically are cars that aren't great street racers - 'MURIKA F YE. They all feel like oil tankers. Quickly steer in either direction and you'll see the nose slowly start turning. When you go through a corner at what should be too high of a speed, there's no understeer nor oversteer.

I said I tried all 4 cars and that includes the 370Z. I tried the other 3 first, because I fully expected them to be crap. The 370Z however is a much lighter car, much shorter wheelbase and should just be a lot more nimble than the other 3. It isn't. And something the 370Z is quite known for is the fact that its grip isn't great, yet in this game it is glued to the road. And it still feels like an oiltanker.

At this point I'm already bored of it though, the handling's just not going to be interesting to me. I'm not going to get any joy out of it. To give you an idea of what this is like for people who like sims: this is handholding on rails at its finest. This is like having aim assist in an FPS. There is still hope, because it is fixable (although not to the point that would make it truly great to me Razz) and maybe the input lag will be bearable at 60 FPS, but alas, I doubt I'll come back to that.

For the rest of you, I suspect that those who liked Driver: SF will enjoy this plenty - if you can get past the horrible, horrible input lag.

For those who think the last few NFS games were great racing games this might already prove too complex though Troll Face

Oh well, I gave it a shot ^_^

no thx ubicrap, was really tempted to buy this but nope, nope. nope- not this piece of shit

Start the pad before the The Crew is loading up. Some games these days do not support turning it on in the middle of it, whatever reason for that is.
