it says alpha build on the top left though, doubt the style will change but you never know.
it's fine by me anyways, i am just glad there's an actual PC ui after all the shit we've seen.
Yeah, I'm actually surprised that they even bothered with a proper-ish PC interface. Makes the game look more presentable at least. Can't save the poor contents, but it's a start
Makes sense for leaders of armies to venture off into dangerous caves for loot. That is definitely what I would have done if I was tasked with leading the battle against evil, I'd go and get myself killed in a cave somewhere with three other people.
Wonder if keep will be somehow usable for Yarr version aswell ,but does that existence of Keep mean that it will not be possible to import through saves from previous games only through this online only crap?

Since you need to log in to Origin in-game and import directly from there, I imagine there will be some difficulties with the yarr version, but I'm sure people will figure something out.
As for the saves, yeah, you'll have to recreate your world state in the Keep, no save import.
You have to login via an Origin user/pass, so presumably it's a form of DRM with game authentication happening during the process. I would guess the likely solution for the pirated version would be to start a new game with the default settings, save and exit, then edit the save with an editor, once one turns up. Chances are pretty good that Rick/gibbed will make one. Either that or someone figures out either how to get the Keep data into the game without the game having to connect to EA's servers.

No direct import, but as shown in the video it will check any save info previously uploaded to the old Social site from Origins and DA2. It seems like it can get quite a bit of data from that.
Bah! More hidden DRM bullshit! I guess this method (online only game features or even whole game parts available only online) will become widespread in a few years.

You don't have to use the Keep, but there is no provision to import prior saves directly into the game. That's what Keep is for. It completely replaces manual save imports. If you don't use it, you get the default choices (Dalish warden, ultimate sacrifice, Alistair as king, mage Hawke, sided with mages).
I doubt the choices from previous games will make much difference anyway, and that's the ones they actually bother using. If you saw the leaked Keep pics, there was all sorts of shit in there that will never show up, like whether you gave the prisoner in the cage at Ostagar food or not. Even the major elements, like who killed the archdemon, who became ruler of Fereldan, whether Hawke sided with the mages or templars, will probably get a couple of lines of throwaway dialogue at best. Hawke and the warden are going to make a cameo, presumably during the final battle if that last trailer was any indication, but I doubt even that will be of any real consequence.

does the keep allow you to customize the face of those guys to match your characters, cuz if they didn't look like them then that would be weird.
game is even running of a different engine which would make it difficult to import the save, even simple stuff like choice importing could be omitted, not even gonna mention face importing.
What the exact process is has yet to be officially confirmed, but from what I understand from the leaks and other stuff is that you get shown some defaults and you can choose to either accept those or not. I'm not sure what the process is for Hawke, but if you choose that for the Warden it looks like you get a further subset of appearances to choose from. From the limited number of pics I saw, I'm guessing they are mostly based on the 5 or so head presets for each race and sex that you could choose at character creation. I have no idea how that works with data it pulls from old uploads to the Social site.
Edit: Here's one of the leaked pics of Keep showing some default Warden options. You can only see a male human and male elf, but both use pics from Origins of the very first head preset:
It seems it doesn't matter what the actual Origin is, only the sex and race. The morphs stay the same, they just add tattoos for Dalish elves and dwarf commoners.
Well the main one is if you support the mages or templars, otherwise it's mostly smaller choices affecting the outcome of certain quests somewhat.
I guess if you go friend or rival on the party members might be counted as a choice and not doing some of the quests will probably count as well.
(Like the one with Flemeth stuck in a piece of jewelry.)
but even that main choice didnt change the outcome at the end, save for if i remember correctly, an additional boss fight depending on your choice.
otherwise the last boss and ending were the same.
i shouldnt really complain about it while i m playing walking dead s02 though, a game that advertises its choice system as one of the main aspects and yet most of them barely even change a single line of dialogue or a 5 second scene.
Yeah the game played out pretty similar regardless of the players choices, perhaps they'll have some more impact in this sequel.
(Glad they're making a utility for creating compatible saves, that keep thing or what it was called.)
EDIT: That or it just affects gender and race of the original Warden (Probably has a full covering helmet or something.) and if Hawke is male or female with default appearance, including that red paint stripe.
