You don't want the Hydra anyways. While it does work, it's nowhere where it should be. I've bought it last year and used it for less then an hour.

Holy shit it's awesome !
(who gives a shit about a case. The cardboard feels fine too)
The resolution and positional tracking make all the difference ! it's just incredible to be able to lean and look around up close to thing. fantastic!
And the low persistance. OH MY GOD. no smearing at all.
if it was up to me, this could be a consumer product.

Eventhough its an improvement over DK1, the resolution is still too low imo.
And whatever the consumer version will be, at an even higher resolution like 1440p (still too low for VR, imo) at a constant 90FPS (which is what they are supposedly aiming for), you can expect through-the-roof-end hardware requirements.
Not before 2016 I say.
"Enlightenment is man's emergence from his self-imposed nonage. Nonage is the inability to use one's own understanding without another's guidance. This nonage is self-imposed if its cause lies not in lack of understanding but in indecision and lack of courage to use one's own mind without another's guidance. Dare to know! (Sapere aude.) "Have the courage to use your own understanding," is therefore the motto of the enlightenment."

it's still way far from a consumer product
also, there are no proper vr controllers out yet
mouse/keyboard/gamepad are not good enough
