Its not always online like simcity, its DRM but a new kind it seems, they will proly need a few days to crack it, if its possible ofc.

My wife approves. Just that the game loads in a few secs compared to 8 mins in Sims 3 is great.

Day 1 Patch
Quote:
Severe Issues / Crashes:
Fixed a crash in Build Mode by preventing the game from thinking fences were rooms.
Fixed a crash in Create A Sim that could occur after the you lock and unlock your computer.

Bug Fixes / Issues:
Fixed an issue with “Shine on Men’s Suit”, “Glitter and Abs”, “Big Hat of Shame”, “Star-Spangled Glasses” and the “Tiki Bar”, not remembering their unlocked state upon reload.
Fixed several issues with Sims attempting to go on dates with the Reaper, resulting in non-responsive game states. The Reaper still loves ya baby, he is just too busy to go on a date with every lovelorn Sim that vies for his attention.
Fixed several issues where babies were incorrectly hibernating within household inventories resulting in several issues:
You can now exit Build Mode when not on your home lot if a baby was incorrectly left in the home lot inventory.
Game no longer hangs if you attempt to split a household with a baby on the lot and in the household inventory.
Splitting and merging households no longer results in unplayable households due to babies being left in household inventories.
Babies are no longer left locked in the household inventory if all the other Sims in the household die.
Babies no longer multiply if left in the Household Inventory while editing the lot via Manage Worlds.

Fixed an issue where Gallery households that have been merged with another household were preventing Live Mode from loading.
Adding a new Sim to a played household via Create A Sim by going from Manage Worlds will now allow you to modify their face and body.
Lots with scaled objects (via the shift + [,] cheat) that are shared to the Gallery will now remember their enlarged state for others to enjoy.

Gallery Issues:
Fixed an issue where the game would become non-responsive when attempting to save a lot to the your library

Are there PCs with bigger monitors than that? Preferably one that doesn't keep the actual machine behind the monitor would be nice because that's just ridiculous.

I just noticed in the options there is a option to allow mods and under that there is also an option to allow scripts. Are they going to allow modding from the start this time? Didn't they try and stop it in the sims 3 to then kind of patch a half arsed attempt in later?

EA don't know that. In their offices everything they got is 1337 laptops and in their homes they rely on the 360/PS3 Laughing

Haha, that is one feature that I like, accidental or not Razz Laughing. And lol at the changelog, some of those bugs are simply insane..but then again, it's an EA game, you can't actually expect proper playtesting, ever.
I'm eager to try it despite the crippled nature of the vanilla game, though (and I blame Awesome for that Very Happy). May our famous buddies find a way to release the cracken soon(ish).

Gave it a try since I figure that :1) It's only 35bucks 2)Origin offers a refund during the first 24 hours if I hate it.

There's some good stuff, there's some bad stuff.

The base game feels better. Much smoother. Great performance. Great animations. Better looking sims, more unique. Like the changes toward their personalities and how it affects their wants, like their moods.
More sims are generally on screen at any time, you can see the neighborhood, I can easily see sims hanging out around, hanging out in a park/garden.
My Sim isn't as needy as before, feel like I get a little bit more time to do other stuff, tho it's not crazy either.
Simoleons seem a little harder to come by, you don't get crazy rich as quickly and the bills make more of a difference. I find this to be a good thing.
Interactions between sims are good.

Overall, the foundations of the game are quite nice.
The bad part: it feels lacking in content. It's that simple. What is there seems to be done quite well, but it feels so limited right now. If we were to compared Sims 2 with no expansions VS Sims 3 with no expansions VS Sims 4 with no expansions, I'd probably take Sims 4.

But right now? With all the content has been added over 10 years to the past 2 games? 2 and 3 are a better choice.
There's still value to be found in Sims 4 tho. Just... not that much right away.
