yeah but a 3000 is supposed to be 2.167, my 2800+ comes in as a 2.1 under valves checker, officially a 2.08

crap or not but...
i got a pc with AMD 64 3000+ venice core and the chip runs at default speed of 1800mhz a normal 200mhz*9
ususaly the chip will not heat up if useing non stock fan so far my cpu runs at nice 2250mhz 250mhz*9
all the AMD chips even if they say its 4000+ have either 2400mhz or 2600mhz depending on what type of core is used i might be wrong about the other chips but i also have 4000+ and it has the speed of 2.4ghz lol steam needs a new detection system to actualy CHECK the speed of the darn cpu chips instead of reading the speed
I teleported home one night
With Ron and Sid and Meg.
Ron stole Meggie's heart away
And i got Sidneys leg.

haha that makes me cry coz thats what my old PC was. You really wouldn't know until u actually play it.
edit: it's supposed to show the iris adjusting and the fact that it adjests according to the light brightness on the screen is pretty decent to me. Of course they can't get it perfect and some things are overly bright but its deffo a step forward.

Everyone of you guys bought HL2?? I hope there will be a group release of Lost Coast because if you didn't buy HL2 there's no way to play Lost Coast, right?

I got that warning also but I installed and played it anyway. I have
P4 2.4 , 512 ram, 9500 pro o/c slightly. I ran it with medium textures/models,no aa or af, high quality shaders, and full HDR at 1024x768. I was getting mostly between 20-25 sometimes 30 fps and was playable. I could at least see and appreciate the HDR effects and they looked great. After seeing that I think every game should have HDR. I have not played DOD Source so this was my first time seeing HDR in Source.

I stared up Steam yesterday and after updating it said I didn't have HL2, CS: Source, DoD: Source, etc. installed. I was like WTF! I just restarted Steam and then it said I did and I went and downloaded Lost Coast.

The tech demo is KILLING my system even at 12x9. Damn. Its avg around 40 - 50 for normal walking around, and about 25 to 50 for fights. I haven't really benched it , just some figures I saw with Fraps. Considering Half Life was above 60 for me it was really hard to take. Oh well, guess I am gonna have to choose between Hi-res and HDR for now. If Oblivion is this intensive.....

The absurdly high specs lost coast wants makes me laugh though as theres been hdr mods for hl2 for ages & everyones run them fine, of course thats a moot point untill valve fix the source engined games, mmmm steam updates that break games = 'fun'

Well I liked it. It's a cool effect that adds more realism to the game. The level itself was short sure, but it was just a demo.
