This show was filmed with SD digital equipment. What bluray you want again?
By far the best encodes (outside of the DVDs themselves):
The Wire S01 NTSC DVD DD5.1 x264 DBO (9.59GB)
The Wire S02 DVD NTSC x264-DBO (8.88GB)
The Wire S03 DVD NTSC x264-DBO (9.44GB)
The Wire S04 DVD NTSC x264-DBO (11.38GB)
The Wire S05 DVD NTSC x264-DBO (8.24GB)
From SDBits. Includes commentaries for the episodes that include commentaries on the DVDs.
For comparison, the DVDs themselves are 167.61GB.

I just did, now! (better late than never is my motto xD)
Masterpiece. Best TV show I've ever seen, hands down, and I don't think it will ever be surpassed.
Had a very slow start, it wasn't like the others. Felt "strange" at first. No presentations, no flashy hollywoody stuff, no explanations: just genuine, gripping life-like characters and situations. And no fillers either: every single episode had a reason to exist, with more substance than other shows' entire seasons. As for the characters, not a single 'bad' one/miscast, everything felt perfect. Every season felt different.
It gradually reached its apex with the outstanding S04, but the last season did a superb job too at providing a somewhat unique view, with a solid ending also. 10/10 without any doubt.

I can already see myself re-watching it in the future, it's literally impossible to catch all the details the first time. The "problem" now is, all the other current shows will suddenly seem more derp

Hahah guys <3, thanks for the recommendation (and for pushing me when I was being a lazy mofo), I am definitely a better man now. I've been Bubbles for years, but now I'm Reginald!

What's The Wire? is this a good show? I don't think it's as good as Jersey Shore is.
Spoiler: | I'm fucking with you guys . I would love to continue watching it but I forgot the episode number that I watched last time and it's been a couple years.
the only thing I can remember is ...fuck I can't even remember. Only bits and pieces. I think someone important died, his partner (the black guy) was getting all drunk at their usual spot and yelling / crying? ...
something happened at the port ..( season 2? )
something important with Stringer Bell.... either he was started working for the cops or he was taking revange?
FUUUUCK....nope, I think I have to find out by myself :/ |

Is this that boring show in which they talk talk and talk? How is the pewpew/talking ratio?

GOT beats this show in every aspect, that includes quality acting AND tits and head chopping.

The real Jay Landsman plays the lieutenant in the western (Colvins right hand) (random trivia for you! ) |
Shiieeet, didn't know that. Cool And now I'm tempted to read Homicide too.. D:
iNs you need to resist, and give the show some time (at least 3-4 episodes). Don't give up on me son, this is an official request!
The show is not "accessible", as in, doesn't have awesome buttons, flashy presentations with easy one-dimensional story, modern hipster artsy editing and stuff like that; it's fundamentally something close to an authentic (when this word still had the right meaning) documentary, only with exceptional multi-layered writing on top of it.

Excellent
Apparently the show was originally shot in 16:9 (Panavision cameras/ Super 35), and then cut off for the broadcast, so it should be proper HD stuff.
I should have waited a bit more!
