I think having any kind of fly that bites you is terrifying enough :S horse flies are the worst though, other than botflies ofc Their bite fucking hurts. Went hiking with some friends a a few months ago and felt a sharp sting, and they wondered why on earth i'm bleeding so much from my shoulder. Well, turns out there was a lot of horse flies around.
Yeah horse flies are annoying, don't think it hurts that bad (less then a sting from a wasp). Though might be because I got bit so freaking much every summer
