OMG guys, i just figured it out. I patched the damned thing! And after that i can't run the game! Un/reinstalled it and it works! Don't patch it! The bad thing is the patch includes optimizations... so somebody has to figure out how to start it with the patched version.

edit. patched too and from a mounted image it doesn't work... pretty strange since aray keep saying there's no protection in the installation dir even after patching
2 options: they added tages and aray don't see it as usual with tages, or they did something to the disc check.
in the first case no way u'r gonna patch the game, in the other case it should work from a burned dvd since u can't mount it anymore

one question: have you tried using something like virtual cd hide after patching the game to check if it's only a virtual drive blacklist?

this game is appallingly bad, damn awful basically. It runs like complete ass which is weird since the gfx dont look all that great. And the gameplay is generic and the squadmate AI is pathetic 3/10

Thanks Oddmaker for the quote.

The demo was really bad IMO. I was wondering if any of the bugs got fixed
in the final game. Cheers...

I never played the demo and at the start I was a bit dubious about this game. The visuals look both good and bad. They got all the flashy shaders in it and everything but the human models look quite dated to me. The first mission was a bit disappointing but when you first run into the masses of enemies I was like OMG! I think they captured the film pretty good! The game really hots up in my opinion on the second mission when you have to defend the outpost. The feeling of outnumbered is pretty spectacular and the tank bug rocks! The game runs surprisingly well considering all the enemies on screen at once! I love launching grenades at them and watching the limbs fly! The cutscenes from the movie are a bit crap. They should have left those out but overall I have to say I really like this game despite so many negative comments from everyone else. I also patched the game before playing it.

Thnx for the mini-review and screens headshot im gonna try this later, I skipped the demo of this and have only heard bad comments regarding the game but from what you say if you take the game for what it is then it could actually be pretty enjoyable.

cheers Smile

Nah you will prolly dis it like everyone else lol and in response to eliz, weapon detail does not make a game! Ok so the weapons arent fantastically detailed in comparison to todays games and it doesnt look as nice as COD2, Quake4 or Fear but its a fun shooter in my opinion. I think people should play through to the end of the Outpost 29 mission and if they still think the same about it then fair enough. To be honest I almost turned the game off during the first mission but Im glad I stuck with it.

i'm deep in the game, played about 6 hours and i must admit i changed my mind about this title... it's fuckin awesome... really funny to face hundreds of bugs coming, and a pain in the ass to kill the big plasma things around the levels..

8+/10 to me

I started to play it earlier on and found it reasonably enjoyable not the best game ever but a decent distraction - I played to the end of the mission that headshot suggested to play to.

I see what everyone was saying about the engine, plus it being a little buggy. Some of the shaders could have done with a little more work they just look so rough plus I get some awful crackling on my sound card with the game for no apparent reason.

Im gonna patch the game later on and check their forums for known issues before I play it anymore but yeah seems ok, I didn't check the multiplayer but if theres co-op on the single player campaign then I'll work my way through it with a mate.
