This game is excellent, atleast 9.4 out of 10.
Also, anyone who says there is no diffrece between DX7 and DX9 is a moron who is lying to himself, there is a HUGE diffrece, and if you cant see the diffrence your video card sucks ass.
Game runs great at 1280x1024, everything on maximum, fps never drops below 50.
Also, I dont know why poeple dont like the A.I in this game, its pretty damn good, so far only second to FEAR which has the best AI ever.

i got 1.5 MBit and have to wait to upgrade to 4MBit till january 1st.
so i got a downloadrate of 140kb/s at the moment that's not the much i know.  |

What grapics card do you have? Must be a good one not to drop below 50 fps...

One of the worst AI's lately..friendly soldiers see a grenade landing at their feer, call out "Grenade!" and wait for it to explode and die..
Or when a grenade is too far from them, they run at it..just so they could feel what it is to fly.
Otherwise a nice game.

On the graphics card issue, probably the best upgrade I've made is going back from a 12ms LCD, to a second hand 21" compaq flatscreen crt, £100 off ebay. Used with a X800xt with 2x aa, makes games look kinda like an arcade cabinet, with black lines between each row of pixels. Hard to explain but I prefer the look to 1600*1200.

Haha, you really dont have a clue what you are talking about MarijuanaAddict, but I'm not surprise, you do call yourself "MarijuanaAddict" afterall which gives me hints that maybe you have smoked abit too much?
Here are some images with everything as high as it goes, including aa.
DX9.
DX7.
Oh look, identical smoke effects. 
The most noticable difference in that snow level is that in dx9 you get snow falling down, in dx7 you dont. The rest is just shaders on various objects, something you will most likley not notice when you play since you move all the time, so as some of us have said, the differences are there but they are not that big.
Maps with no weather effects (like snow falling down) will show even less differences.
Besides, I dont even understand why snow falling down is a dx9 specific feature.

Nah not at all, you might not have all the snow effects and all that but you can still play, I'd rarther be able to play than run around like a helpless noob on 12 fps. :s

Well pallebrun, I think you are the clueless one ..... I ran tests with both DX7 and DX9 .. and DX7 removes a shit load of stuff from your game thats why it runs better, if you are playing in DX7 might as well go play COD 1.
On my system there is a big diffrence between DX7 and DX9, but hey, whatever.

But when you upgrade your GCard you know the first thing you'll do is play through it again with all effects on:)

There seems to be a lot of banding in that smoke, plus you're missing out on hdr.
Plus i dont think dx7 even has shaders, dx8 started with those .
