"None of the bells and whistles that we have on new games"
"If you don't have an unlock tree or aim down sights, you might not have a reason for players to keep playing your game"
Oh take your biased bullshit and stuff it up your arse, you pedantic industry-destroying twat.
Everyone knows you're just a RAPIST CIS SCUM. So fuck off, Sabin, your opinion does not count!
I wish Zoe Quinn would give her opinion about Toxikk, that would finally be a voice of reason in this ocean of mysoginistic web of lies influenced by the global patriarchy!

Of course not!
Having fun isn't a reason to play a game, come on :/
These guys, who are the "journos", most of them are roughly the same age as us (~30).
WHAT THE FUCK DID THEY PLAY GROWING UP?
Because all my friends who were gamers, while growing up, have a similar taste to mine (they like the deeper games of ages past, and they mainly play for the joy the gameplay offers, not unlocking shit).
So ... WHAT THE FUCK DID THESE GUYS PLAY?
Or are they so out of touch, that they just eat out just about any mainstream orifice, that is trendy just at the moment - like Zoe Quinn. BOOM!
I think unlocking, if done right, is the perfect system.
They have to be meaningful and impactful. The greatest example I can think of is fighting games. There are fewer things more satisfying than unlocking a new, SIGNIFICANT, fighter.
I think for Tekken for the original Playstation, I must have played that goddamn Galaga game in the beginning 8 billion times and I believe that unlocked something. And then like, beating the game with everyone to unlock the last boss I believe.
That stuff feels good.
But seeing a stale experience track that unlocks weak bullshit is no fun at all.
Oh don't get me wrong, I love me some progression and unlock systems, but they're certainly not the be-all and end-all of shooters. The way some people are playing off as if games are pointless without it.. egh.. it's just silly.

This too! This is one of the reasons why I really dislike the PS360 re-release of Marvel vs Capcom 2, since they've automatically pre-unlocked all the characters and one of the great things about playing the original on the DC was the "shop" mode where you could buy characters
I don't even care what those idiots have to say. The game isn't even targeted at them. It's targeted at fools like me who get their panties wet when they see stuff that reminds them of the old glory days.

Sadly, just like the GamerGate stuff, those idiots are the ones in control. A pisspoor review from shitbags like DerpGN means publishers and developers make less of Game A in exchange for derped down Game B.. since only Game B will be classed as "profitable"
Well the devs kinda exposed themselves with that trailer, no this, no that, yeah thats the amazing stuff to brag about . They could focus on stuff that makes their game good, no on what it doesnt have (even if it is the same thing, you dont market your product in that kind of "negative" approach). As for modern fps gamers - they are 100% right, what are you complaining about? Thats how things look nowadays, you can not like it all you want but thats the reality.
Did you all watched it to the end? Guy literally said he is excited to see something that deviates from the current fps games. Personally I dont know if I would like to spend x hours in arena based shooter boosting my skills or just play something like BF games and have a blast leveling up, unlocking stuff, using differen vehicles and so on. I had time to practice my aim when q2-3 was released, now I dont, and most of the people dont have it or simply are not willing to do that.
This way or another, waiting more for the new unreal tournament shooter

The forgot one thing, "No own ideas, just UT clone"
They SHOWED, what their game is about, and typed in text, what it isn't about.
Also, if an arena shooter today had the production values of say Destiny, or the latest Call of Derps, and the marketing of it ... I bet my fucking balls, that it would sell as much as CoD sells.
Soo... Double jumps, dodge jumps, wall dodges, slope jumps, elevator jumps. Yyyeah, they really put a lot of thought into this. It's going to be REAALLY innovative
Basically, the only change from UT 2k4 is bringing back the good ol' Quake-style rocket jumps instead of having to use the impact hammer/shield gun for that.
Oh, and btw - am I looking right? Do I see a magazine ammo counters in the HUD? UT with reloading?
Or is it just a small amount of total ammo the guy had on him?
I did check the video. The ammo wasn't even mentioned

They're not trying to be innovative That's the whole point, the point is to get away from CoD and go BACK to the style of UT
Yeah, but trailers like this one would suggest they're doing something new, that needs to be presented like that. This trailer however might as well be just replaced with a UT2k4 video
But ok, I get it - all that CAN be new for console kids raised on CoD, that were still running around in diapers back in 2004
The map they used in that movement demo video looked awesome - got a real Deus Ex/Blade Runner vibe from it!
I can never be free, because the shackles I wear can't be touched or be seen.

“After working on the game for more than two years, implementing all basic features and polishing the game's visuals, we feel that we now need input from the most important aspect of the game: THE PLAYERS!
We believe that a solid weapon balance and a polished movement model are the top priorities for an Arena FPS. That's where you can make the difference! Help us make TOXIKK an overall great experience.”
Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?
“Early Access is planned for 4-6 months. Depending on our testing focus, we'll release new maps, features and game modes along the course of this early access beta on a regulary basis.”
How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?
“The full game will feature the complete set of maps, weapons, game modes and features. But most importantly, with your help it'll be a highly polished and balanced Arena FPS.”
What is the current state of the Early Access version?
“The game is fully playable. We'll add more features, maps and game modes along the course of the early access beta on a regulary basis.”
Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?
“The price for the full game will be higher than the current one.”
