You've got to be kidding me.   He's such an iconic figure, with actually a lot of potential in terms of campaign developments, and they turn him into a disaster gimmick like the tornado in Tropico/Simcity.
This doesn't make any sense at all. Therefore, it's something that CA would do!   |

Also while Rome 2 had a utterly horrible release and has some really annoying "Features" . A lot of people have extreme rose tinted glasses when it comes to previous total war games.
Sure they did a lot of things good but they also did a lot of things absolutely terribly which the new games do a whole heap better.
Also with regards to "just a xpack". They did this before with Napoleon and FOS, and both were EXTREMELY polished compared to their predecessors.

But like I said, FotS wasn't full price. And every Shogun2 owner got a discount ontop of that.
Just saying that it would be pathetic if this is another Napoleon rather than FotS in the pricing.

My only problem with Rome 2 honestly was the fucking squalor. Every 4 to 5 turns a revolt army of some uber fucking ancient warriors would rise up. Only way to deal with it was to mod out squalor altogether.

Maybe even Indians vs Cowboys.

That won't happen for a long while yet, if at all. Westward Expansion didn't properly start until the 1870s, which is not even 150 years ago, and there's still massive repercussions about the killing of American Indians by the US Government. Plus, there's cultural issues (the Washington Redskins continue to have bad PR due to their racist name).
There also issues from a design point-of-view: What did the American Indians actually have in terms of armaments? Or military tactics? I'm sure they had quite a few of the latter, if you think about guerilla warfare, but not many of the former, and no-where near enough of either to make a Total War game.

Military tactics? Well they liked to surround cocky generals in canyon ambushes  usually winning via numbers from horseback. I think I'd be jolly fun with a western atmosphere to shoot&run at rifleman using bow and arrow.
Of course they lost to technology in the end, just like the Samurai. |
