So, this seems to get rave reviews everywhere. Metacritic 99/100 (wtf!!!!). Has anyone in UK seen it already? Another masterpiece from Linklater I guess. The trailer:
they;re mostly rating the movie on the fact that it's been filmed for 12 years. a rare project. (there's already one like this out there). you has proper parent child relationship as you has hawke and wife and child growing up in front of you. s'lol.
greatest movie of all time? nah. decent project, yes. But it's nothing that we haven't experienced before. Even in smaller scales.
Jodorowskys dune is sitting at 99%
it's mostly a documentary about a kid who's friends with his son.
one night heard the awesome story of dune.
got himself a camera. did the whole project himself.
some plenty of nice content in the doc itself. but it's not a 99%...
RT drops as fast as IMDB and it's as reliable as MC now.

linklater has done a few stinkers...
this just worth a watch because of what the project is.
Been out for a while. Story isn't to my liking. The concept and the execution is flawless. Apart from shitty acting. But the sibling connection / friend connection / parental connection is there. Which makes it believable.
Some people say it has high scores because it's a massive project, so artsy, much hipster. And really it's pretty meh, without real story... guy grows up, becomes douche.

Don't forget that it's a movie based on a life of an american teenager. So you wouldn't be able to relate. I'm a tad older than you and my youth in Poland consisted of a sandpit and an old potato as a toy.
