Welcome to Battlefield 3.

Ati or nvidia? If nvidia, try 314.12 drivers.

For me the game was stable with a CPU OC but became prone to crashes with a GPU OC. And I read that people in general had issues with BF3 and overclocking.

oh yeah sorry, i forgot. it was indeed the GPU overclock that caused issues. CPU, too, but to a lesser extend. IIRC i wasn't able to play bf3, unless i had my GPU running on stock settings.

That's because compared to most games, BF3 and BF4 squeeze much more out of our GPUs. They both actually do quite a bit compute stuff, something we'll see more of now that the consoles are on similar architectures. Basically means that Frostbite manages to keep more of the shaders actively working than most other engines. I can't actually think of any, CryEngine stresses other parts of the GPU for example (the geometry units are used more in CE, FB barely touches them). Bioshock Infinite also has some stuff built in that isn't part of a standard UE, it puts more load on the shaders than most games too.

They're actually good stress tests if you want to know if your OC is stable, more so than CE or Heaven Razz

Hopped in 2 different rush servers this morning, each one had a hacker one shooting me from across the map ending up 100-5 or something. Fucking grand bazaar 36 players grenade spamming eachother over 1 choke point, with the screen constantly shacking and bluring from the explosions and suppression effect. Nobody ever spotted anybody, tank driver was dominating cuz apparently 95% of pc players cant fire a fucking rpg even if they're dying over and over because of it. Every day same story.. EA, DICE and every battlefield game since bad company 2 are a fucking jokeeeeeeeeee

Is there any profit from buying Premium now, or I should buy just the expansions I want? (I already have b2k and cqb)

@warriormax

Most TDM servers are vanilla maps only, could barely find any of the other maps. No idea how it is on the other modes but it seems pretty barren. Sad

BF4 has a nice little site called BF4DB (http://bf4db.com/servers/protected), where you can see MUCH more available/full servers than the ones displayed in the crappy battlelog list.

I bet the same things happens in battlelog with BF3. You "officially" get listed 2/3 servers that are populated, while the rest are empty (Premium content included), yet, in reality, (populated) servers might be much more numerous.

Don't know if there is a BF3DB "corespondent" though... Smile

This one that you describe is for me the number one problem with the game/battlelog (especially as previous biggest issues are resolved for the most part). This thing has been present ever since BF3 was released, and has prolonged its existence in BF4 until today.

GameTracker is supporting BF3 but you can't tell which exp is running by the server, unless its playing some exp map.

I went back to replay some SP FPS games and started with the BC2 campaign which I finished in less than 5 hours I think... Somehow I had it as much better in memory, but tbh, it's very outdated and the movement, ui etc didn't hold up very well.

As I've finished BC2, it's time for the BF3 campaign and honestly, this game still looks incredibly beautiful and plays really really well. The change in pace and movement were all for the better! The only thing that BC2 made much better than BF3 & 4 were the destructibility of the environment. I'm looking forward to finish the BF3 campaign Smile Just the first two missions feel already 10 times better than what CoD offered in the last 4 games or so.

I really want to go back and re-play Modern Warfare 1 & 2 but I'm afraid that their graphics are even worse than BC2 Sad

I played the AW campaign and it felt just very generic and stupid. Like get in this vehicle and shoot at 1 million drones. I didn't finish it because it was so bad. Does it get better or what? And as far as I remember, the BF3 campaign is better than the BF4 campaign anyway.

So I finished the game and honestly, I didn't had this SP as this good in mind. I always remembered that the BC2 SP was better, but BF3 was miles ahead. Better gunplay (except for the stupid recoil and spread), better movement, well done cut scenes, nice details and an ok story but sadly less destruction.

If I'd had to rate the SP experience today I'd give BC2 a 6.5/10 and this would get 7.5/10

Yea, but this is NOW, in 2015. And it's because we have NOTHING to compare it with. And since there is no "contemporary" reference and so few new FPS games around, well... you accept it as good/ok/great much easier.

I also started to play recently BF4's SP campaign, now that I can use a normal FOV. And, tbh, it's far from being as BAD as I remember. Have some hundreds of hours in MP, but haven't finished the SP campaign at launch. Guess that speaks tons about how it was perceived back then.

I can't remember any shit of BF3 campaign. But i still remember how cool BC2 campaign was. So how can you rate it lower than BF3. Shocked
Though i don't remember BF3 campaign, it probably still was better than all the latest COD crap. Laughing

I remember drooling over the mandatory "tank map" gameplay trailer. Damn I loved the gritty artistic design in this game. Too bad they got a lot of crap for it and went for a much more casual look in BF4.
