It doesn't run as well as I was expecting it to, based on my hardware. I'm thinking my PSU (I think it's a 650W) is a bottleneck for my setup as my i7 and a 780GTX, aren't getting butter smooth frames with 20+ cars like the videos that paxsali was uploading and fulfilling my requests.
Still, it definitely runs well, and looks quite the showpiece.
And regarding my PSU, I was running a 500, and after dropping a 650 in there, I saw no improvement in 3Dmark, so I felt it wasn't being underutilised. Could be wrong, though.
Your PSU has zero, zilch, nada, niente, geen, rien effect on your FPS. What made you think that your PSU has *anything* to do with FPS?
soo playin wit a keyboard, the car dont really turn at high speed, or it just me?
Try increasing speed sensitivity (or lowering, don't quite remember which one makes it turn faster ) BTW. this is pretty much a sim and you won't have much fun trying to correct the forces with a digital keyboard
@Werelds: Don't say that! When I was playing on my laptop years ago and the game was too demanding and the powersource not powerful enough, the game would constantly freeze for a second
How can I make this game use the SLI? I searched all over internet.Nothing really working-tried renaming the .exe no differnce in the FPS. There is no NV inspector bits which working... :/

You can create a lobby with the 831 cracked version yes but you can't play with legal users atm
For SLI i heard there is a fix
Spoiler:
19/10/2014 - I have updated all Profiles to include the pCARS64.exe and the Gld exe's - please test and feedback
I was really excited to see that Zappadoc had developed a pCARS plugin for SLIMaxManager..... and that Berney at SimVibe had also created a plugin.... so all was complete for my immersion apart from TrackIR support......
then it struck me.... I usually rename pCARS.exe to AFR-FriendlyD3D.exe so that I can use 3 Screens with SLI support and whilst SimVibe allows me to point at a particular exe, SLIMaxManager does not... it looks for pCARS.exe...
Soo... my first thought and action earlier on tonight, was to ask Zappadoc to add AFR-FriendlyD3D.exe to the plugin to get my digital dash working.... then I found that the renaming trick is quite common to other games to get SLI support prior to one being released by the 'Softies'.... so that probably was not going to happen << see EDIT #2 below!
Then I thought... I know.... I'll just change the profile in Nvidia inspector to the same as AFR-FriendlyD3D..... but AFR-FriendlyD3D does not have a SLI Profile in Nvidia Inspector.... AFR-FriendlyD3D is a developer tool/exe that is used to determine the capability of SLI within a game
Then I thought...I know... I'll look to see what the SLI compatabilty bits actually mean from the ground up.... this was hard on my little brain, but after a few hours of reading forums, dev blogs and stuff that distracted me otherwise, I started to put my new knowledge in to practice.... an hour or so later, something magical happened.....
I'm going to stop there with the explanation of how I got to here and cut to the chase, because I have a big vein popping out of my forehead right now and no alcohol tonight.... lets just say that I had an epiphany.... or maybe a stroke of luck combined with desperation and/or sobriety and ended up with creating a simple SLI Profile that seems to equal the renaming process... without any noticeable bad effects (caveat).....yet.....(/caveat)
...and this is where you lot with a couple of NVidia cards in SLI come in.... I need you to test the profile I created to make sure I'm not mad and give feedback.... if I'm on the right track... I'll keep reading up on it and tweak till my head bursts
Here is the profile....http://www.mrpix.co.uk/other/pCARS/download_pcars_7z.php it has been downloaded times so far! (dynamic counter)
FAQ's (taken from this thread and PMs)
Q. Do you import the profile into Nvidia Inspector then run pCARS via steam instead of AFR-FriendlyD3D.exe?
A. Yes, just import the nip file in Nvidia Inspector and run pCARS normally via the steam shortcut directly. Running AFR-FriendlyD3D.exe will not use this profile.
Q. Do you have to have Nvidia Inspector running for it to work?
A. No. Once the profile is imported and you have applied it, you can close Nvidia Inspector.
Q. Do I have to apply the profile everytime I reboot or before I start up pCARS?
A. No, Once applied, the profile is persistent between reboots.
Q. What happens if I update pCARS?
A. Updating pCARS has no effect on the SLI profile.
Q. What if I update my NVidia drivers?
A. The profile gets overwritten with the standard one, so you need to fire up Nvidia Inspector and import the profile again and apply the changes.
Q. Will this work on DX9 and DX11.
A. No, this profile is only for DX11.
Q. My SLI stopped working since Build 812.
A. Re-download the profiles and apply again within Nvidia Inspector. Build 812 introduced the pCARS64.exe running by default on 64 bit OS'es. The likelyhood is that you have been running the x86 (32-bit) version until now. I have updated ALL the profiles in the package and removed v4 as this was just v3 with the 64 bit exe added, this is no longer needed.
Q. Which builds has the profile been tested against?
A. native: 439, 441, 447, 451, 456, 475, 480, 505, steam: 510, 515, 527, 531, 536, 547, 552, 557, 567, 572, 577, 598, 603, 668 ++ All future builds should work, but I stopped testing at 668. Profiles updated post Build 812, if yours no longer works, re-download and apply the same profile again in Nvidia Inspector.
(see my benchmark)
Q. Which NVidia Drivers has this profile been tested with?
A. 314.07whql, 314.14beta, 314.21beta, 314.22whql, 320.00beta, 320.14beta, 320.18whql, 320.49whql, 326.19beta, 326.41beta, 326.80beta, 327.23whql, 331.65whql ++ Until NVidia provide a native profile, there is no reason these profiles should stop working.
(see my benchmark)
NOTE: If you would rather stick with renaming your exe and you use SLI Max Manager, Zappadoc has now created a plugin for pCARS that uses the AFR-FirendlyD3D.exe as it's trigger << Thanks Zappadoc!!

I was thinking logically. PSUs only output so many Watts, and there's a reason you can buy a 1200W power supply.... but more on my case, I simply figured if there was too much of a drain across the whole system, the card wouldn't be used to it's max potential.
Unless of course you're stating that if I didn't have sufficient power for the card, it simply wouldn't work at all, which makes sense.

You can buy 1.2KW units because there are retards that will buy them, not because they're particularly useful. Not enough power from your PSU would mean it would just shut down, yes.
And unlike what Silent_Lurker says, a higher wattage PSU isn't more stable by any means. Generally speaking most of those units nowadays are built to amazing standards, but for 99.99999% of all gaming systems they still provide 4-5 times more power than that system can ever consume, which means the PSU will be running super inefficiently. And that makes it *less* stable, because it's running hotter than it should have to. I sure hope you're running SLI and some heavy overclocks if you've got a 1+KW PSU S_L, otherwise you're actually generating more heat.
A figure between 300W and 400W is entirely accurate for a top of the line, very recent high-end gaming machine. Even with a hungry R9 290 in there, hitting 450W is harder than you think. So say we're at 350W, on a 1.2 KW PSU you're then at 350/1200 = 29% of its available power. That's good enough, because then you're probably around 90% efficiency. But once you start idling (or even semi-idle, like watching a video)? 70/1200 = 5.8% - at that point you'll be hitting 70% efficiency or worse (meaning 70W would actually pull 100W out of the wall and you're generating 30W worth of heat that gets dumped into your case.
They didn't? You can fuck your car up by hitting a road sign.
That got me by surprise. Generally in driving games you'll just drive over them and they won't have any affect on your car. In pCars it destroyed my front right and I had to end the race
Mine is most of the time on visual ( I suck at anything that's not open wheel ) and I get a lot more damage than in most games on that setting. Body work falling off and such.
Sounds more like Deelix one is off or bugging out (wouldn't be surprised how much my game bugs out).
Heh, yep.. mine is set to "Visual" too. I like seeing the damage but I'm not a pro-racer simlover so having a few bumps and scrapes put me out of a race is just ""
Oh, you arcade peasants... Sim Racing Master Race FTW!
I usually go with full damage, because if you hit something at high speed, at least a wheel should fall off Makes you want to drive clean and take care of the car.
Although before trying pCARS I've lost front wings, wheels, bonnets, bumpers... but I have never seen a broken wheel rim. After hitting something the car wasn't handling very well (duh...) so I switched to the outside camera to inspect the wreck and I spotted the lower 25% of the rim completely missing It looked as if the rim had clipped through the tarmac texture, but I was still able to move the car and as it bounced on some bump, the front of the car lifted off the ground and the part of the rim was still missing... No idea if that was a bug or a feature but that definitely was something new.

*Slaps* I said anything that is not open wheel racing!
Tho in all honesty it's mostly with supercars, they have the speed and acceleration as some of the formula's, but the handling is just atrocious because of the the lack of downforce
(admittedly less of an issue with a steering wheel, but I had to leave that one in Belgium )
