Do you have a original sony memory card? I ask because this problem have been reported by people with non sony memory cards, they use third party cards. And it's not much you can do if you have a third party card expcept getting a sony card.

Make sure you select NTSC (60HZ) at the menu. I think you may have picked 50Hz which resulted in the screen rolling.

i appreciate enemies disappearing, that way atleast i know theyre really dad and arent gonna get up behind my back and screw me.
am around 17 hrs in the game now, the game is one of the best i ve played, its extremely different from the other re games except for the jerky controls, but the enemy ai easily makes up for it. i d say its a pretty hard game on normal difficulty, alot harder than the predecessors because here they expect you to aim well and not just blast in the enemys direction.
there are still some re-typical aspects that bother me a bit, like when u have to take a big detour around a small half meter pile of stones instead of just jumping or climbing over it.
as always capcom got the gameplay but not the logic.

I have both the BURGER & START2 version, what has baffled me is that the PAL version gives you the option to play the game on either normal or easy setting when you press start game but the NTSC version doesnt give you this option just start game and you will find that its very easy ???? lots of 1 shot head kills, on normal in the PAL version they take alot more bullets to kill leaving you at some points without ammo, why have they given the europeans the chance to play the game harder if they wish and NTSC players stuck with easy mode first time round ?????

yea, screw it.
i played pal burger release on normal, was pretty tough at times, but never frustrating, its just too much fun.
hell even the sequences where u have to protect ashley are fun and not frustrating at all, first game with this kind of sequences that doesnt piss me off and make me throw my gamepad at the wall.

im confused now. The BURGER release is both pal and ntsc. It starts on pal by default, btw if anyone has problems with the screen at the start of the game, if you press X once it will choose english, then for the next one you press down then x to choose ntsc. umm...maybe this has been mentioned already, i dont know.

burger release is the pal version, as in european version, but you can change between pal (50 Hz) and ntsc (60 Hz).
most pal games are like that nowadays, nobody wants to play games at 50 Hz.
especially in resident evil 4 s case, because the game runs at 30 fps on ntsc and at 25 ntsc on pal - well, the change from 25 to 30 fps might sound small but its exactly the mark where a game changes from laggy to fluid.

The game is very nice. The controls could have been better, but it is not that bad. The game has the metroid/castlevania approach : Big map, but lots of areas you can't access yet.

Warren Spector : I never minded piracy. Anyone who minds about piracy is full of shit. Anyone who pirates your game wasn’t going to buy it anyway!

Seems i made a mistake NTSC version doesnt start in easy it is infact normal, was strange thou cos i was getting very easy kills untill i saved and saw that the game was on normal mode, so someone at CapCom seems to think that PAL players need to have an easy mode option, where as NTSC players dont !!

oh well whatever, must say thou this is one of the best action games ever Very Happy

for the BURGER release, do I have to select the language and NTSC mode every time I start it? I thought I would only have to do that once, is there any way to set it to default?

it could be that in the us version the normal mode is as easy as the european easy, and european normal would be american hard.
when u play european version on normal u cant give so many heashots, sometime u keep blasting at the head and nothing happens, most enemies have alot of energy.

NTSC is ALWAYS the better version cos PAL just sux, not alot of NTSC players know this but theres entire market in PAL regions for NTSC games, at proper games shops you will find both PAL and NTSC versions for sale but the NTSC version is normally 50% more expensive but still a true gamer will pay the extra cash for the NTSC version.

Why you might ask well for a start PAL is 17.5% slower plus theres always massive black borders above and below and the color looks washed out, take my word for it, it really is crap

BTW, the NTSC doesnt have an easy mode it was a mistake i made in a earlier post, i had corrected it with another post, just chose start game and it will be normal mode and i aint finding it easy at all

thats bull pal versions sucked in the psx times, nowadays most pal games come with 60 Hz mode and in that case run at the same speed as their ntsc counterparts, without black borders.
if the colour looks washed its cuz ure not using an rgb cable (or cym in english i think), everyne should use one, the normal av cable has a shitty transfer.

A lot of people have observed that NTSC probably stands for 'Never The Same Colour'

PAL60 is is superior

I would say that even normal PAL is superior, for the simple fact that it has a better picture, 625lines version 525 on NTSC speaks for itself. Washed out colors on PAL is just bullshit.
And those black borders are like 0.5mm-1cm thick, hardly massive. Razz
And about NTSC games being more expensive in PAL regions, yeah obviously they are since the store has to import them. Smile

true, but Fifa 2006 PAL really sucked at this point, and no screen adjust option..... I always prefer NTSC because of fullscreen (or pal 60hz selectable). I live in Holland and just want fullscreen Very Happy

btw, why the hell is RE4 in widescreen :S
