and what would you chosse as goty? To me although DS2 was much worse than DS1 , but still much better than most of what was released in 2014 so far and cant even thing of any one coming till December who cant top that

Hell, I'd even put Watch Dogs above Dark Souls 2, to be honest.

Yup, agreed! There are still several high-end games due to come out in the next two months. Running GOTY awards now is highly premature. IMO they should be ran in January, so as to account for the entire previous year.

Wait, what do you want them to do, predict the future? Obviously the upcoming games from here to 31 Dec are gonna be taken into account in the 2015 edition of the awards. Didn't you see Black Flag, a 2013 game winning some category this year?
I wouldn't be surprised if Alien: isolation (my second best game of the year) is among the favorites next year, even though I expect The Witcher 3 to win

Let's get real, they are never going to hand a GOTY award to a PC exclusive game in a multiplatform event, sadly
And BTW, after your arguments, our fellow humper scaraderpa is still alone. He is alone at laughing at the fact that Dark Souls 2 won. If you bothered to read you know it's his reaction which has been the point of discussion all along. I mean, you can disagree with the designation but you would have never given such reaction to the fact that the game could be a contender, clearly

DS2 is massively overrated, whereas I played WD from start to finish and - terrible, absolutely terrible - performance issues aside; I loved every minute.

I know I can and I did and I do. I may not have laughed, but that doesn't change the fact that he's not alone in thinking that it doesn't deserve to win GOTY. There are, again IMO, better candidates.

Personally I wouldn't compare Dark Souls games to Watch_Dogs because their approach is very different.

Giving best of 2014 awards in October is nothing less than a sign of heavy retardation. And DS2 GOTY... I really didnt think so many people take pleasure in playing game that was made purely to piss them off also being shitty console port and bugfest.

So yeah, it would make it impossible to designate a GOTY each year. Perhaps that kind of award is just useless and naturally unfair.
