Sadly the game doesnt hold up these days, the graphics are fine and i love the sound and music but the gameplay is pretty much just mass produce the biggest unit.
I think a lot of the intensity actually came from the poor controls and with those modded out its too easy.
Dune 2 on the Amiga compared to the PC version but Dune 1 is great too and has a CD version with speech.
don't forget the DUNE 1 CD version has FMV Movie cutscenes , 3d redone deserts , Voice overs , CD AUDIO MUSIC

then you have SUPER DUNE 2 ... that explores the story after Dune 2 and .... Dune 2 - eXtended another dune 2 ... with new story after the SUPER DUNE 2
then DUNE 2000 a remake with FMV cutscenes ... then thing is there where 2 versions ... Playstation 1 version that was in FULL 3D and PC version that was 2D ...
then you have another RTS ... DUNE EMPEROR that`s the continuation of DUNE 2000 story line
FUCKING AWESOME GAME ... and its NON-LINEAR AS FUCK each fraction has 3 endings depending on your decisions !!!
and then you have 2 DUNE games from CYRO ... one is a Metal Gear Solid Clone .... called Frank Hearberts Dune ... its based on the RTL/Pro Seiben TV Book adaptation series
passable game ... only plays well if you have a PAD !!!!
Are there any mods for Dune 2000 and Emperor? Especially mods that update the graphics a bit
Dune 2000 still looks good enough, but maybe some better models for Emperor
