I thought that only 4K will be next big thing in display technology. (Because fuck 3D! )
It turns out that 60/48 fps motion-pictures may adapt even faster and better.
Good! While some people have problems with fluid videos because it reminds them of soap-operas or amateurish real life footage, I personally enjoy them quite a lot and never had any of the aforementioned issues.

Well, so far, for cinema experiences HFR doesn't seem to be catching on. There was the Hobbit experiment, but many people didn't like it from what I understand. There are more technical considerations for that kind if an "upgrade" as well, so I think it's unlikely we will be seeing a lot of movies like that any time soon.
With YouTube, vast majority of the videos are gaming related. The rest mainly consists of personal/homemade videos of some kind (be it some cellphone footage, home videos, GoPro or whatever else) - for videos like that (porn included ) looking "fluid" is not a downside at all, so for YT it absolutely makes sense to bump up the framerate.
What's happening with YouTube doesn't really mean much for movies or cinema - it's a different medium entirely.
Finally launches 60fps option but it seems to only be for Chrome, Firefox33 doesn't have support it seems.. not even when enabling MSE. Forcing the HTML5 player even takes away 1080p on Firefox too
Supposedly a consistent stutter during play due to dropping to 59fps, causing a slight hitch at times during framedrop. Though I guess the slowdowns you're noticing could just as easily be the video, rather than game.
The difference between 30 and 60, even on YT, is delicious. I'd like to say that hopefully this will put to bed any peasantry about "can't see the difference" .. but... sadly...

I don't see the big deal. All I notice is this is faster than 30fps, but it's too fast. I prefer the 30fps.
Tested that 60fps video too in Chrome, as Google doesn't seem to support Firefox anytime soon
At first it looked strange, watching a video that fast. But after some time it looked much better than 30fps videos (as one would expect).
But i still hate watching movies with more than 30fps

eh, I'll give a shit when they fix their shit buffering system and mobile use.
magic actions has buffer booster, which actually works
Yup and if you want something other than MA, you can get Youtube Center which is less flashy than MA but has largely the same options, including being able to disable DASH playback (the prebuffer locking shit YT uses)
Lol a lot of 60fps videos of pc games dip below 60. mastaer race
