It's probably SMAA T2x but modified with a wider than "normal" resolve filter, like TXAA uses.

Consoles are blamed for bad pings, but surely this shit is not acceptable on consoles either. Who can play like that, even with a controller?

Blops 1 & 2 had dedicated servers on PC. Treyarch are the only one who has them, even World at War had them.

The first three CoD titles had them on PC (we didn't get CoD3), as did MW3 and the two BLoPS games, yeah. Ghosts and MW2 had the bullshit consolised "listen" server nonsense. Hell, we've had dedicated servers for games ever since Quake 1.

MW1 also had user-runnable dedicated server exe.
I don't get what the problem with consoles is, they could create an EXE or a linux binary to serve as the server logic, and allow people with strong connections to download and run. Then have the console durrs that can't understand a zit don't see a server list but have the game choose the most near server.

I tried it vs bots, there is no lag since you host... Don't spread bullshit kthx. My ping is perfect.
But yeah, other than that the ping is usually terrible because of P2P.
I don't see why console has anything to do with it though. Activision could simply ship dedicated server apps to host from OSX/Windows/Linux, even for consoles.
Yes, dedicated server seems to have stopped with consoles, but it's just a coincidence. P2P wasn't that much used before, and PS360 came during the P2P era, therefore developers thought it was cheaper to make games P2P.
Hell don't you remember PC exclusive games like WarCraft III that are STILL P2P ?...

Yeah. And because the pings are usually terrible, it goes like that. Some games are really bad because you end up with "1 red bar", and all fights end up like this.
Also many noobs are playing with the laser, overpowered weapon...

What the hell is this bullshit man.. This game manages to load a single linear level (which you can complete in about 10 minutes) longer than, let's say, any sandbox game's open world. Not only that, but the cutscenes are even stuttering while it loads.. Good job effed up CoD engines..

Turn off the shader cache options, not to be confused with the shadow cache settings.
(If you have it enabled then by default the game will load halfway and then the other half gets loaded when the cutscene has finished playing, you can also enable the second shader cache setting so it loads data during said cutscenes but it can introduce stuttering and it'll still load faster if you disable the caching entirely.)

Umm..you know...ive got a kick ass computer and badass internet. it was my FIRST run of the game in multiplayer and I only played with bots.
I dont really care much about your ping or setup..infact..I dont care about you in ANY way, I was clearly just sharing my experience to the thread. If you dont belive I had lag - fine, you dont have to belive me. But dont fucking tell me what I said was bullshit cos I fucking know what I experienced.

So... what am I doing wrong? I have a Core i5 3570K clocked to 4.2Ghz, GTX 970 slightly overclocked too, 8GB of fast 2100 RAM underclocked to 1600 for less memory latency...
... and yet, the game runs like crap on a FullHD res. I tried to lower the res from Extra to High, everything looks like crap, stutters are here to stay.
The fact that you have to wait a minute or two after you change a single Video option does not help too.
So, where is the trick? What do I disable or lower to get passable, and most importantly, consistent framerate?

Pity the fools who grab this on the PC for some MP

Set textures and shadows to Automatic. That way they will be rendered in real time to the best quality possible for your PC without any stuttering (kinda like Unreal engine does).

Native would be full res and was how it worked in some of the previous COD games, here it's called Extra.
(Automatic sets them according to your hardware and in this case it's probably very VRAM specific.)

have played it for only 10 min, had performance problems and those texture bugs. tried it again with the patch, set everything to high/extra (except supersampling aa) and disabled the shader loading stuff. works fine now without any stutterung (770gtx 2gb)
