Nope, setting textures and shadows to automatic did not help. Stutterfest still.

Turn off Cache Sun Shadow and Cache Spot Shadow (not to be confused with the shader cache options). Those ones were the culprits that made the game stutter and hitch from time to time in my case.

Is there a .cfg file that lets you show the actual ping instead of the lame ass bars? These fewls better release some damn dedicated servers soon. They specifically said there would be dedicated servers and that the providers would be announced "soon".

What is this recent trend of borderless windowed having a little better performance than fullscreen
1 and 2 are still amazing.

D3D9Ex and later have a few advantages over the older DX7/8/9 API's, I believe this is one of them, I think it's something like that at least.
(Works better with windowed / borderless mode, alt-tabbing can be near instantaneous and I believe triple buffering also works better to name a few things plus of course the full successors D3D10 and D3D11 offering further improvements.)

Anyone have ANY idea whatsoever, what the HANDLING stat stands for in the MP game? I'm clueless about it.

Have enough with this piece of crapware. Tried virtually every combination of options, turned off those caches, did not help. Shadow of Mordor or any other new game runs quite well, but not this pile of manure.
Clearly, the fact that the whole game needs to restart after changing an option means it was designed for consoles where there are no parameters to set. I suspect my 120Hz monitor is making this game all confused.
Will wait for future patches, but otherwise off with this monstrosity.

If you're jumping through all these hoops to only play the singleplayer, don't bother any further. It's not worth it. You're only in for 9-10-minute long levels filled with hand-holding, 'Follow!'-like objectives, hollow characters, aimless explosions put there only for the sake of explosions. Only a couple of levels are good - the ones where you get to ride in an impenetrable robot-like costume. These were really enjoyable. Everything else is meh...

You got me, bud, in the past windowed mode was always the *worse* performing option.. nowadays it seems to fix things and improve performance |
I fear its only going to get weirder from now on... these ridiculously inflated requirements for arguably marginal graphical gains

It's still really strangely inconsistent. In most games it does, in some games it doesn't and in others it makes no difference.
1 and 2 are still amazing.

If a game is GPU bound, the performance suffers. If it isn't optimized or CPU bound, it makes no difference or can improve, depending on how it interferes with Windows. But on a pure GPU mode, it cannot improve performance because Windows runs the GPU at a different state (so not full performance of GPU) + all other windows are drawn and maintained, and on Windows Vista and above, that's rendering on GPU of some elements + GPU composition.

Believable and relatable...Yep, sounds like Call of Duty

Played a couple of hours with Neon in MP. (he is by far my superior in this game).
Had loads of fun. Dare I say: I had more fun, than I thought possible in a CoD game.
My only problem is, weapons are laser sharp, thus TTK is low, and taking on multiple opponent, which I love to do in shooters, is difficult here. Rarely do you get to cap two fellows attacking at once, and killing 3+ is even harder.
Camping is pretty much useless. Snipers are a valid weapon, but relocations are required, and I think it's balanced just right.
Shotguns suck ass, because you might as well melee the enemy.
Movement is great, and pretty varied as well. These jetpacks are way more versatile than Titanfall jetpacks.

escalibur - yeah, it's worse than ever. I once tried to flank the enemy position, run around a car to the right to get a better angle - left the mission area, bam, game over.

How long before "you have 5 seconds to look in the correct direction" when big important visual scripted sequences are occurring?

Finished the campaign.
I didn't think they could cram in more hand-holding and automation than in the previous games, but somehow they did. That's quite an accomplishment.
Now not only you have the usual stuff (linear, follow-the-leader gameplay, AI that kills enemies for you, corridor one-way level design, etc.) but in case you're so braindead that you still find it too hard they introduce weapons that highlight enemies for you and grenades that auto target foes so you don't even have to aim. The next game is probably just gonna be a Dragon's Lair kind of game with the occasional "press F to kick ass" button prompt.
What a waste of assets this game is. That's what annoys me most: there's a level of detail in every scene/area that is completely wasted because you don't even stop long enough to appreciate it or use it in a tactical way to your advantage, since you're always just running from point A to point B. So many times I found myself saying "this level would be great if I could play it like game X". Or if I could play it at all, in case it was one of the many hand-holding sequences. Such a shame. Put these levels on a crysis or splinter cell gameplay and they would make for a fun game.

I am still somehow enjoying it and would rate it many mbays but it makes me want to play binary domain again. Just because of the setting
3080, ps5, lg oled
Sin317-"im 31 years old and still surprised at how much shit comes out of my ass actually ..."
SteamDRM-"Call of Duty is the symbol of the true perfection in every aspect. Call of Duty games are like Mozart's/Beethoven's symphonies"
deadpoetic-"are you new to the cyberspace?"
