I hate those Rift. Purely just to show off their art skills. It is dumb as hell and gets in my way of actually playing the real game. It doesn't have anything to do with neither of the story, their explanation for it doesn't even make sense. It is short and unnecessary yet they probably have wasted the dev plenty of time just to make this shit.

Yeah, and if they ever make a new Quake, they need to ditch the whole rocketjumping concept and start fresh. No more epic jumping and no more fragging and shit like that. Just give us a pure shooter game without all the crap that comes with good FPSs. /s

Like it or not, climbing viewpoints will be here forever, that's the iconic thing in AC games.

Just like jumping into haystacks or equivalents of them.

Also I must be incredibly lucky, because apart from some collision issues (like Arno's leg going through a wall), I didn't have any graphical bugs (like missing faces etc). I wonder if the missing faces bug exists only on AMD cards?

Although when I was playing coop with Vaifan yesterday we both got stuck in the haystack and we couldn't get out Laughing

nice with a little man-on-man double action in a haystack

And please, dont compare jumping and fragging with climbing up in a fucking tower to sync a memory. If all the memories are in the DNA why do we have to climb up in a tower to sync. Its all so fucking stupid and got boring after AC2. And why do ubiflop have to use this in all of their games?

I must be very lucky as well, getting solid performance on the yarr version, which doesn't even have the latest patch. I encountered zero glitches in 5 hours played.

The game has many flaws, but the atmosphere is by far the best from all AC games. And I mean by far. They truly did amazong work on the AI and art department.

Interesting, thought the game was already at version 1.2.0 but I see now that it displays 1.1.0 in the main menu and the readme file from the UPlay preload data which was posted with various changes for 1.2.0 is now altered and just displays the 1.1.0 changelog, guess it was withheld then and this patch will be out either tomorrow or in a few days with more updates following later.

Indeed. Atmosphere, attention to detail, combat system, open-endness of the missions and the VAST amount of content (the city is fucking huge, I've been playing this for 17 hours now and haven't even uncovered half of the map) make it the best AC game so far. Can't wait to see what happens in the story, since I'm still very early.

Yea they seem to ruled that update out and downgraded the pre-load on uplay (the 900mb patch).

Steam version comes with v1.1.0 and readme doesnt have v1.2.0 entries. Not sure about uplay readme file after update.

Hope they will fix the cinematics lag soon as its really annoying.

I have him on ignore because I'm tired of his fanboyism.

By the way, the complaint I see most in the reviews basically comes down to "IT DOESN'T HAVE BOATS IN IT, I LIKED BLACK FLAG AND IT HAD BOATS IN IT, I DON'T LIKE UNITY, IT DOESN'T HAVE BOATS".

They really should have fucking called Black Flag Pirate's Creed or something so we could avoid this discussion.

Also one of the missions in the game is literally called "A damsel in distress"- could it be the reason behind the low scores? Cool Face

Yeah, the pop-in stuff happens, it is annoying/jarring, but it kind of was an issue in all AC games (wish they fucking fixed it in Unity though), but it's nothing close to the "missing faces" bug or clipping your whole body through a map etc.

I'm on an SSD as well

watch the vid, game runs perfect almost constant 60 fps Smile he is just trolling its unplayable.

all settings used are shown in the vid.

the amd sucks is a jab at the fact that even ubi is saying most framerate issues are related to AMD hardware Laughing

Oh yeah, I'm sure it's AMD's fault that this game runs like crap. Gameworks and Ubimisation don't have anything to do with that, I'm sure of it Laughing

Anyone did "Killed By Science" murder mystery and can tell me where the hell is the 6th clue location?

I've visited five, spoke to all the highlighted NPCs there, examined objects in the investigation area, it shows all clues as found but there's no sixth location. ><

Besides the pop-in and occasional stupid jumps and clipping, i'm on a solid fps too.
Ofc mine is only a 770, but i'm still floating between 45-60 with exception of cutscenes.
Everything highest with exception of FXAA and no soft shadows. I guess my 4GB VRAM helps too since it does max it out most of the time.

Yep VRAM its the most precious recourse you need for this game. I'm sure 4GB version of my 760 GTX will run the game on solid fps with High+ Textures in Paris.

Textures option along with MSAA above is most demanding.
Textures on Low + FXAA everytihn else max i get solid fps in Paris.
If i turn Textures on High no matter other settings i get lag in Paris.
Versalles is great even on High textues but its small map and lot less density.
