Finally! I hope we'll see more scores like this one. It's time for SI to stop the nonsense. The game should have 3-year updates at a reasonable price with continuous patch support. That said, FM14 with the latest patch was a very good base to start with. I'm sticking with FM14 with database updates. I will never buy a new FM game again until SI announces a plan like the one I described above.

I think that's a fair score. It doesn't bring much new, but once the bugs are ironed it'll be the better game just because of a few improvements. That said, they shouldn't release these updates as a "new" game, if they called it what it is: an update to the core game, it would receive a lot wider acceptance.

The bugs are unacceptable. There are some bugs now that were also on vanilla FM14 and fixed with patches! The excuse that the code is complex with thousand algorithms is getting old already.

It is, yes. SI is in an incredibly powerful position in that they have no competition and I love what this game does. They're forced into this by Sega, and if it were up to them I think they'd rather spend more time and deliver more polished updates.

The most important thing is the continuation of this game and as a fan it sucks to see the progress from each game be so tiny as what we see in this year's edition: STILL, in spite of everything, it is still going to be better than FM2014 was, though that's just my opinion. I played over 1000 hours of FM2014 and I've found a few things that I like better in FM2015 that just edges it for me. It is -very- similar though, as we've established that it is the same game, and always has been the same game.

Imagine what they could have done with the Match Engine if they had any ambition to speak of. They're too caught up in trying to make it run on lower-end systems. Lower end systems should run 2d, higher end should be treated to an experience worthy of modern gaming. It is very lacking, and not to mention that the 3d view is a resource hog without many considerable improvements over FM2014, which again is proof of how rushed out the door these annual updates are.

Still, I feel that the reviewers are too busy punishing SI for the lack of progress that it has now become apparent that an agenda has started to emerge with the hopeful endgoal of making SI change their yearly releases.

So for the people that have played the game. Do we still have a bunch of woodwork hits like it has been the last few years? Or have they actually finally fixed that? Will probably still skip 15 but it might give some hope for a FM16 if I don't have to watch 1+ woodwork hits each and every game. Wink

It's bad, but then again, so was every other version, from 2011 onwards. But give it 6 months of patching, and it will be brilliant, and just in time for the FM2016 announcement Wink

Forward to next year....

Ok, player suggestion starting fresh at least consider Lucas Romero for DM/CM in your teams, depending on your needs of course. I had a good CM but giving this guy a run as center mid, box-to-box or DM worked out and he's already known Worldwide after just one season and he's been picked for the Argentina team playing with guys like Messi now. Juventus and Real Madrid wants him and its seems like its tougher to convince players to stay in this compared to FM2014. I don't think he's picky about where he goes at the start of the game though, need to check it with lower league teams.

No and no. It has nothing to do with Sega, as they were up to same tricks under Eidos as well:

Quote:
Despite its high sales, CM4 was generally not well received by hardcore fans for several reasons. The game ran quite slowly on computers which had previously had no difficulty in running CM games (a common issue with software). The original release contained some functional bugs which in some cases rendered the game farcical - the score in matches could randomly change and lower division clubs were able to sign superstars with ease. In one bug, non-league club Northwich Victoria would move to a stadium with a capacity of 850,000. Sports Interactive also irritated some fans with the euphemistic term "Enhancement Packs" used to describe what were essentially patches to fix the bugs in the original release. This term was dropped for future releases.

They have this behamothian code, and every couple of years, they decide it's time to start packing it with new features in a hope people will stop complaining about releasing same game each year. Offcourse, they'll screw it up, and by the time they polish it, they'll have people asking for new features again.

Bought it 2 days ago. The game is ok to play. FM 15 is better then FM 14, but differences are minor.

Most noticable improvements for me:
interface is beter (best new feature is that the tactics screen now shows the player quality for that position relative to the team in an icon just like the star system )
3d matches look a little bit better.
Some additions to the scouting system.

It can be picked up for 20 euro's, can't decide i've that's worth it for you. I've you don't mind the money play fm 15, otherwise stick to FM 14.

Been playing this series since CM back in the 90's, last years edition was in my humble opinion awful. My heart tells me 2015 will be much improved (AI), but my brain knows it won't.

Still, 16€ at gmg with voucher (20PERO-FFDIGI-GAMESX) i finally gave in.
Verdict will take a couple of weeks, or hours...
