Bioware don't do turn-based. Origins was Real Time with Pause.

I loved that about it, and with the pause as well just like in KOTOR. You pace the game yourself which is excellent.

I'm not a fan of real-time+pause combat. When you have a full party it gets somewhat messy. Well, at least it used to in some games.
I played Pillars Of Eternity beta yesterday and tbh I would most certainly prefer if it had a turn-based combat.

The D&D games (BG 1/2, KotOR) were round-based, not turn-based. DA doesn't use rounds.

Quote: | At PAX Prime 2014, during the "2015 Videogames in the Forgotten Realms" panel hosted by Wizards of the Coast, Trent Oster, Creative Director for Beamdog, unveiled that Icewind Dale: Enhanced Edition is coming to iOS, Android and PC later this year. Trent also revealed two updates for Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition: its availability on iPhone and the capacity to have multiplayer work across different platforms.
In addition, Rob Overmeyer, Executive Producer for Cryptic Studios, confirmed that Neverwinter, available now for PC, will arrive on Xbox One in the first half of 2014. Furthermore, Ryan Drag, Creative Director for Backflip Studios, announced that a "castle defense" style D&D game for mobile is set to release in 2015. |
It looks like 2015 will suck in this regard

Looks like Inquisition assumes you've played the previous games because it throws lore and in-fiction words at you without explaining them, so just heads up about that shit. Some are understandable from the context, but still.

That's actually good. When they kept harping on with that "welcoming for newcomers" bullshit, I figured there would be some extended handholding going on. Three games in to a series the burden should be on the player to go look up the background fluff.

Yes its a good thing. Its also good that the game is fully playable even without the DA background. Some of the jokes and references will go over those players' heads though which is a loss I'd say, as most reviewers say dialogue and story is this game's strong side, not combat specifically.

Mexican Origin. The price is a bit higher than the one you'd pay for a RU\CIS version but you get a "proper" version that supports several languages.

There might not be one because of the added security bs.
