the city you are actually looking for when thinking of visiting paris is prague Razz

well that would be fine setting aswell ,but not sure which era would be best for AC in Prague

I think the best setting would be first half of the 15th century during Hussite uprisings when catholic Europe organized several crusades against Czech hussites and failed. You could insert many assassin/templar speculations there.

In fact, Andrej Sapkowski, author of the Witcher books has already done that and wrote a fantastic trilogy on Czech Hussite era called God's Warriors (Narrentum, God's Warriors, Lex Perpetua). It's witty, loaded with well researched facts as well as fabulations about surviving adepts of pagan magical cults, inquisition, etc.

Other era that comes to mind is early 17th century during the reign of Rudolf II, who was a great sponsor of arts and also alchemy, and who invited such prominent figures and Magister Kelley or John Dee to his court, hoping that they could discover the way to transmute base metals to gold and thus save his extravagant reign from financial ruin.

A more bizzare settings could include 1970s after Warsaw Pact invasion that quelled democratic, pro Western movements and started an era of repression called "The Normalization". Exprezident Husak as a Templar adept is a thought amusing enough.

Hussite era would definitely fit thematicaly fit the temlar/assassin theme, but eventwise it. woylnt be great choice for AC as the most interesting events happened outside Prague. Better fit for that Era is skyrimish RPG aka what Warhorse is doing with Kingdom Come.

The Rudolfian era fits better for AC king of game. They could even include Golem Smile

1.2.0 doesn't help with FPS at all, not that I expected it to. Uninstalling this until better times. I like the AC franchise and I really wanted to enjoy the game despite all the technical problems, but trying to play this right now is an exercise in frustration.

Well, what the actual fucking fuck. I installed the new patch through ulol and now it comes up with some kind of a loading bar after the cutscenes.

Keeps hanging on 25%. And that's for like 20 minutes now.

http://www.guru3d.com/news-story/assassins-creed-unity-not-running-well-on-amd-hardware.html

Quote:
The main root cause of the issue isn't AMD or for that matter Nvidia who's mid-range products run into issues as well, it's Ubisoft. The DX11 game currently is pushing roughly 50,000 draw calls on the DirectX 11 API. DX11 is designed to handle ~10,000 peak draw calls. Mantle and DirectX 12 are designed to handle that number, but not DX11.

Ubisoft just started responding to this on their forums:

We are aware that the graphics performance of Assassin’s Creed Unity on PC may be adversely affected by certain AMD CPU and GPU configurations. This should not affect the vast majority of PC players, but rest assured that AMD and Ubisoft are continuing to work together closely to resolve the issue, and will provide more information as soon as it is available.

Laughing Problem is, consoles don't need to go though a layer, so the call limit doesn't apply.

Still doesn't explain the crap performance tho...

Well apparently patch 1.2 did actually have this changelog, it's not just fixing the helix thing. Did anyone with the legit version see any improvements?

As expected runs like shit for my old fellow Phenom II 945 3.8Ghz, 650ti Boost and 8gb of ram.

Everything on lowest possible in 1280x800 and it appears to keep 30 fps running around streets and roofs, except it has those weird slowdowns when it freezes for half a second when you tackle a guard and stuff like that. Of course in cutscenes its worse dropping to 15 fps sometimes.

Overall if someone tells me that this game with everything on low looks like "next gen" awesome looking game that justifies running like absolute crap I will find him and beat the shit out of him with a wooden stick.

Also actual Paris supposed to run even worse yes ?

ps. Whats the fucking deal with number of npcs, is it 1800s or 2014 times square ? Number of people on sreets looks like ubilols just didnt know how to distinguish this game from rest of AC series and just added one milion more bots to make it "unique"
